Hello RWI!

So I won an auction on eBay a couple of weeks ago for a 16613 dial and insert and they finally came after being stuck in customs here in Denmark where I had to pay 25% in taxes and $24 in handling fees (How's that compared to your country?)... Anyway! Here it is:

Looks a lot better in real life than in some of the photos. (iPhone 6 Plus)

So I guess it's a multicolour dial since it is purple in some light? And I reckon it would also fit in a 16803?

Would you use it in a 16613? I also have a gen crown on the way from Ronin007. Planning on using a TC case + TC 16613 hands and then have a modder reshape it and drill lug holes to make it period correct if I'm gonna use that dial. Ssteel perhaps (**** the drama)? Though I will still need a golden bezel - so shoutout to anyone who's looking to part with their WM9 bezel! The alternative is having the TC bezel galvanized in gold but with wear and tear that would leave it with unnatural spots, right?

Also planning on using a Riyi002 two tone bracelet. I reckon that is the best alternative since a solid gold one is out of my budget atm. Shoutout to anyone looking to part with their two tone bracelet as well! ... Unless I would need something specific because of the lug holes? I haven't made it to that point yet, as you can see.

Here's an actual lume shot!

JK, it's dead!
I reckon that just happens with Tritium dials over time? Re-lume with super luminova?

So what are your thoughts? Any advice would be very appreciated as well!

my suggestions..

Bezel - Gen, ST, WSO
Case - TC or ST. I traded my TC for a ST for true 20mm lug width
Caseback - TC
Crown - Gen
Hands - TC if using ETA
Bracelet - Gen, WSO, or wm9... (PM if interested in a wm9 bracelet)
Lume - Screw the lume.. it is a old watch..

Sneak Peak of my build..

Case - ST
Caseback - TC
Bezel / Insert - Gen
Dial / Hands - Gen
Bracelet - Gen (needs MY loving care)
Movement - Most Likely service a yuki movement.

Does TC do gold hands?

I would use a TC or Sean case with a Yuki3135 so you don't have to cut the dial feet on that old beauty.

That with gen hands and a WSO bezel and we have a winner.

Is Sean case the same as ST case?
Also how much do the Yuki3135 go for? Was planning on TC 2824 (perhaps his new Elabore Grade 2824?)

Damn.. My dream build. Might be interested in that bracelet, but I am afraid it would get confiscated in customs... unless chaw6125 or someone else within the EU could reship it to Denmark? ;););)

Does your lume still work or is it the same as mine?

I would go
- TC gold hands
- Gen DW
- Gen crown
- For budget reasons WM9 bezel (I know someone who might wanna sell one)
- WSO bracelet
- Y3135 serviced
- gen crystal
- gen insert
- WM9 clasp

these 16613's are not for the faint of heart, they always start reasonably but then always end up being very expensive. It's just too beautiful a watch to do half ass

I was just going to leave that 16613 I bought "as is" and keep as a beater (a well cared for beater) but now you've all got me thinking...

Haha a beater status is for SS models. If your going with TT, gotta make it presentable :)

I actually don't like that term "daily beater". I wear my gen everyday but I treat it like royalty. Do people really beat their watches? :punk:

I would never beat any of mine. Even though I don't have a gen just yet (maybe soon) I treat all my watches like royalty

You're looking at a money pit if you do this, you know that right? Been there and spent a ton.

Great question, I wear my watches nearly all the time but do wear with caution or remove them if they could be a chance of damaging one. When I was younger things were much harder to come by so I've always taken the best care of what ever I own.

I've always been partial to the 16613 sunburst dial. The older tritium dial is pretty nice, but lacks the punch of this one. This dial went in my 16613 Franken project some time ago. It made for an easier build than the older TT model.
