This is a modded Ultimate SD but the idea actually started with a SSD. I wore an unmodded SSD for a couple of years but overtime felt there were a few things different from a gen but I just couldn't pinpoint which. Maybe it was the dial or the overall case profile. I just couldn't tell even doing a side-by-side with a gen.
Then when Ultimate SD was released, I skeptically bought the A2813 to compare, hoping to get those unidentified difference right. I actually prefer the case profile of this Ultimate compared to SSD. While many has commented that the bezel isn't as thick as SSD, I actually find the whole combination of bezel with case nicer than SSD. I got a WM pearl sent the watch and parts off to PBdad for the reworks.
The ingredients:
- Ultimate SD
- WM Pearl
- TC 93160A
The works by PBdad:
- Relume on dial, hands and pearl
- Crystal edge polish
- Install ETA movement
- Gen crown with generic tube
- CG reshape
On the bracelet: mixed TC 93160A clasp with Ultimate's end links. I initially used all TC's bracelet but found the end links missing the curving bulge on the end midlink, but with the TC clasp with a gen-link tightness. The endlinks of Ultimate actually looks very good and has a tight fit to the case.

The result is a giant step closer to a perfection of the classic Seadweller I can get. The exceptional feel of the bracelet takes the rep to a whole new level, far more than I got with the SSD.

Further possible improvement, if any, would be the crystal. While the edges are polished, the edges between the top and side is still kind of sharp. Gen crystal has a nicer rounded edge on the crystal.
