Seller stated it's a rep.

Same thought on the DW, i search thru gens and reps, never seen a similar DW, one more question tho:
- Is a period correct DW/DWO be sourced? [a open 6/9 DWO was very very hard to find for a 1680]

All it's all viet parts and its around 1k USD with raffles bracelet

And yes its running a eta 2836

Raffles offers a DWO for the ETA movements.

fair prince would be a good pick up considering

Hey guys, i am about to buy a cartel base for a 1655 and i dont know if i Can buy thé 2813 as i will only use thé middle case to put a gen eta 2836 inside, read that thé 2813/2836 IS not straight but i don t think cartel rep have différent case design for 2813 or 2836....

Anyone expérience a swap or sée if there IS différence between two rep equipped with those mouvements?

Awesome. By the way, do you work with historical architecture? Those aren't layman's notes.
My wife is an architect and she's very interested in cultural heritage. I thought the annotated sketch would be nice for a photo. We're going to be visiting Chartres Cathedral soon and she's getting ready for it.

Some great pictures, knowledge and experience in this thread, I salute you all. The Polar Explorer was one of the first reps I bought here a few years ago after wanting the real thing for a long time but it's not the best rep I've seen here as it was pretty cheap at the time. Lately I have been drawn to the version with the dark face and am waiting for one to come up in the for sale section when funds allow. Ideally I'd have a better quality rep Polar Explorer to go with it, as the ideal number of watches is always just one more. ;)

I've seen some excellent mods of the polar from @pompompurin

I came across this tidbit of info about the 1655 I have never seen the AD nor was I able to find the pic.

"In the 1970's there was a glossy expensive science magazine called 'OMNI'. From memory, there was a full page Rolex advert. It had a photo of Steve McQueen, sipping coffee and smoking. On his wrist was his Rolex Submariner 5513. The advert band at the bottom of the photo - was advertising the Rolex 1655 Explorer."
You will find all photos and ad in Jake Ehrlich’s rolex magazin, https://www.rolexmagazine.com/
