Hey AP and watch peeps,

Let me get to the point. I'm after a model of Audemars piguet all blacked out with gold dials as rep, if it doesn't exist I want to get a 15400 JF(v2 or the latest available update) to customise it to be like these babies below.

So I found on Instagram a rep that... Doesn't look as darkly toned or vividly golden in its dials to be considered as a good rep, more importantly no information about which factory it came at all! https://www.instagram.com/p/BWfLF6pgxCq/

Now if I can't find something close to it, I may want to customise to the white dials as this

But these golden dials up there is really what I'm after.

You guys know anything that can help me? What is the newest most updated 15400 available closest to gen(v2 or v3) that is all black DLC and am I able to customise it with one of our trusted modifiers here on RWI?

Thanks I'll appreciate all the info given. You gave my thanks

It's almost the same ;)
Umm no it ain't! The diver is bulkier and heavier and bigger in diameter, the 15400 royal oak is slimmer and more of an everyday friendly wear from casual to formal. So definitely not even almost the same

I know. I was joking mate! I have both JF 15400 v2 and I have JF FC Diver + SS V7 Diver.
And btw, you won't find a good rep of the watch you are after because it doesn't exist.
You can put one together. You need 15400 v2 black dial from rose gold version, and another JF 15400 v2 watch. there is no such thing as 15400 V3 yet.

You will have to disassemble it and find a way to add black mat color that will stick to brushed SS surface and won't come off.

I was Intrigued by this thread, particularly given Limpy is also selling the DLC watch in the pictures above.

I was searching to see how it would be possible to recreate the gold hour markers, hour/minute/second hands and AP logo as per the original grail picture on the ceramic Black case.

How about this for a suggestion - you could either purchase Limpy's piece for sale at the moment or purchase a PVD watch like this:
http://www.trustytime.cc/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=241_246&products_id=14170

And then purchase a cheap gold 15400 rep from DH Gate or something for the donor gold parts and then replace them on the PVD/DLC watch?

Thoughts?

By the way what's the difference between DLC and PVD? It's hard to really tell the difference in pictures but I imagine DLC is rougher to touch??

Custom PVD or DLC?

yes its custom dlc‘d.. thats a base TF watch and i have it beadblasted and dlc‘d

i am also thinking about adding a gen RG dial (and hands..) because its not finding too much appreciation in the sales thread. so i thought i go all the way to perfection.

the idea of a cheap base plus seperate miyota is basically good. question remains how the metalparts are machined. if they meet the high quality standard we find with jf and tf before..

for this price definately worth a shot. 240$ is not too bad. but a used JF would be same price..

Yep but there is no PVD/DLC JF model right?

I would be interested in the DLC watch you're selling plus gold markers and hands if you manage to get there... Whether gen or rep I don't mind, I just think it looks great. I imagine a gen dial and hands etc is pretty expensive!

i could offer you to dlc it. shoot me a pm and we can figure something out.

well if you want an RG rep dial/ hands etc. you can simply buy a rep RG JF and swap the movement incl. dial etc. its not that hard to open a 15400 and viola there is your dream watch.

the gen dial is around 1k€ i have a source that has a Rg gen dial that i am thinking of buying. there is a mod, that allows you to keep the feet of the gen dial. really worth it, because its heart breaking to cut the feet. for the miyota you would need rep habds anyway, because gens dont fit on the miyota afaik.

there is no coated JF version. only way is to dlc it customly.

as i said, buy a RG 15400 and swap the whole movement inkl. dial etc. and the watch is ready.

if you need more infos you can contact me via pm
