IMHO the problem is that i canNOT buy a good 14060 as there is not good Rep case of it ... all Rep 1406 come with a 16610 case which is NOT good for the model.
Below is a comparison pic showing :
- LEFT : a Gen 14060 circa 1993
- RIGHT : a Gen 16610 circa 1995
Both have drilled lugs and tritium dials (swiis - T<25)
I have tried to enhance the differences between the 2 models ...
I first designed the circles on the 14060 to show the diameter of both :
- dial opening (inside diameter of the rehaut)
- inside diameter of the insert
- exterior diameter of the insert
- exterior diameter of the rotating bezel
All the circles are green as they are considered as references
Then I copied the circles on the 16610 and changed to red those who are "false"
As one can see :
- the dial opening on a Gen 1406 is smaller than on a 16610 ... so the dial is smaller too
- both interior and exterior diameter of the bezel are larger on the 16610
The 14060 case is supposed to be 39mm insted of being 40 as the 16610 but I've never checked that.
But what is certain is that the bezels are different and the dial openings are different too.
So, IMHO, the only way (one of them) to get a decent 14060 Rep is to start with a 16610 case then :
- turn the case to remove the rehaut
- turn a new rehaut with smaller interior diameter (that could fit a Gen 14060 dial) and and exterior diamter that could reveid a 5513 bezel assembly
- put the new rehaut o the case
- rework the lugs (thinner on the 14060)
- drill the lugs if not drilled
- source a Gen 14060 dial or have decent Rep one printed
Put all parts together and fit an hollow endlings oyster bracelet and enjoy ...
