Finally got around to ordering one of these, it'll be my first IWC!

I opted for the Miyota movement as it sounds like there are some dodgy Asian 21js out there in this watch, plus CousinsUK stock the Miyota for less than an A2813 if it ever dies!

I received the new strap for it today, hopefully the watch will be here soon...

Good move. The Miyota probably doesn't hack though but it's still better than a shoddy A2813 that stutters on the wrist. Funny thing is, the Miyota versions somehow cost more than the A2813 versions. Go figure.
And just to note, even the Mark XVI is available with the Miyotas for the same price if anyone is interested!

What is the impact of the movement not hacking? I think I've only got one watch with a non-hacking movement but it doesn't have a second hand!

The watch arrived today but needed to be signed for, so has gone to the depot, so I'll have to collect it tomorrow. Looking forward to getting it.

Got my watch today, whipped the pretty nasty rep strap off and put a nicer black padded calf with white stitching on.

I took the back off to confirm it had Miyota movement in (it does) and grease the O ring. I then noticed the second hand was catching on the minute hand a bit, so dropped the movement out, bent the second hand up and put a tiny bit of black paint on the tip of the hour hand as a glint of brass was showing through if you caught the light right. I then got a couple of bits of dust off the dial before putting it back together and getting the dial better aligned with the crown.

There were a couple of sharp edges on the lugs and buckle, but two minutes of burnishing sorted those out.

I'm really impressed with this rep; the case, engraving, dial and lume are great. The Miyota movement is really nice, yeah it is 21600vph but it is clean, well made and winds quietly. I actually like the plastic holder as it is much easier to take out and put back than the sloppy brass ones you find in other cheap reps.

This rep is old news now, but if you're thinking about trying an IWC, you can't go wrong with this one. It looks nicely made before you find out it can be on your wrist for under $200 including postage and a decent strap!

I've never had an issue with a 2813, however, I read that this watch has had some dodgy ones in.

This is why I went Miyota and don't regret it, the movement is really nice, runs very accurately and winds quietly.

I'm actually looking for other reps with this movement in now!

I've been loving the miyota since I got my 9015 in my royal oak.. IMHO it's more reliable than the Chinese movements

is it true that this particular mark 17 model suffers from a slanted triangle to the left? Is it just me or all pictures seem to indicate that?

Mine is dead straight, although I've read a lot suffer from a wonky triangle. The dial needed straightening in the case when I got it though, so that could maybe make the triangle look off?

Slanted! Thank you for the new vocabulary I was searching for some months! I have such a slanted triangle on my 3777. I think our chinese friends shouldn't drink that much alcohol during building a rep watch...

Well I checked and all dealers mentioned Outta stock too. Maybe kurvasit has old stocks unsold?
