Wow, that looks alot nicer than the earlier ones from VRF. Looks like they have made some drastic improvements to the gold color. Earlier ones were much more yellow/orange

Do you see any other improvements over the earlier version?

I saw your post couple months back that you bought this VRF 16613LN and improve the gold color with your skills.

Also, do you know if this version takes any gen parts such as datewheel?

Why replace with 1.5mm springbars and what is the plastic mod?

If the SELs are not recessed enough, you can fix this by using 1.5mm diameter springbars instead of the original 2mm diameter ones.

To keep the SEL in place you glue/stick a bit of plastic to the inside of the sel, hence the name plastic mod i think.

You can also just superglue the SEL into position when using the 1.5mm springbars. Works.

I must say, i'm very happy - looks and feels great ootb. Thanks to Puretime team for great business.

I was shopping around for a good two-tone Sub and decided to go VR - not disappointed at all. The gold color looks really spot on in flesh. SELs could be a bit better i guess, but i have some 1.5mm springbars somewhere so i will do the plastic mod

It's a method to lower the SELs by using smaller diameter springbars and holding the sel in place with a piece of plastic - theres a thread somehow.

But in this case i actually epoxied the SELs to prevent it from wobbling around due to the smaller springbars.

Here's a Noob wrapped ($628) and BP wrapped ($938, bracelet alone $438) for comparison. VRF still looks richer in color to me, probably more gen-like. I don't think the BP bracelet will color match well.
