... To be fair, I don't really feel as though anyone should be posting their entire journey from the second they first place an order. Once the watch is in hand, I can see posting a summation of the overall experience and rough wait times, availability, etc. Beyond that it's kind of like nails on the chalkboard. Posting every single minuscule detail of the interaction down to the minute. It comes across as tacky and passive aggressive towards the dealers which I do not care for.

I'll second that (y)

God, it's not this complex, just buy whatever you like the look of, if you decide it's not for you pass it on to someone else.
Maybe you lose £100, so what? Just servicing a gen watch is £500-£1500.
Dive in, it's the only way to learn.

VSF, the lume does not last or shine like the Gen... but when using it it is indistinguishable... and you will surely think why you have a Gen at 12000 usd for 126610, if the VSF feels the same for 500...
The vsf 124060 is better than anything out and regular vsf subs are as good as anything out.

I think they’re supposed to post it under the specific TD review section for others to see exactly how everything unfolded. That helps people who are looking at using that TD know how things went for them. They’re not supposed to post it in the general discussion section. 😂

Curious why on the 40mm black Submariners you are staying to VSF.

CLEAN has
- better rehaut
- same movement
- better "click" on bezel turn
- bezel click springs do not happen to rust when water comes after them (issue on VSF)
- bracelet way better

ok, the xtal is better on the vsf.

It would be something other on the 41mm Subs where the movement is not the same.

Just my opinion.

In this case, I was specifically referencing the 41 mm subs since op had a genuine, and wanted a stand in. I have no opinion on the 40 mm VSF or clean subs. I do have a clean GMT which is great. It's easy to forget it's a replica.

Agree - and also cheaper than VSF 🙂

Maybe even OP mixed up the references, would not see a logic behind buying a gen 41 and then a rep 40 for putting 41 in the safe. But anyway, i used to do this long time, but when you get nerdy like me, one day no modded frankened rep can satisfy you and you alway will note the difference.
For 41mm sub, i will always rock the gen.

Got e DD3285 Pepsi also, and must say, after mossing the bezel spring, its not worth buying in gen for me

I obtained a VSF Sub last week, and couldn't be more pleased. I have, and have had, many Gens.

To keep Gens in new condition, I cam wear a VSF, and nobody is wise to my rep.

And, it keeps great time while looking fantastic.

Good point, I had it like that way long time. But wearing the perfect rep will never replace the gen, especially when it comes to workhorses like a Sub.

I have many Rolex gens, including several 16520, which I bought back in the day and locked up at an off-site safe. I just bought a new Batgirl GMT and a couple weeks later a Clean rep. My first rep ever.

I prefer the rep. I oohhh and ahhhh it all day, and can wear it without worry of damage or theft. It is so amazingly close. I've played "Pick the Real One" with my wife four times, and she has picked the rep every time.

Screw this sh*t. Now I bought a Daytona, and I'm getting a Panda and Pepsi, as well as an 116610LN, so I can stop daily wearing my 16610 that "I've worn for decades.

Why do I think the rep is better? Maybe it's because I feel like I got a fair deal. Or I'm amazed with how 99.9% perfect they are. Or how they keep time. I dunno.

Every one as he wants. But you cant compare a 5 digit with the solid 6 digits. The 5 digit rattlesnake genuine even loses aginst a mid tier EWF 6digit Rep

Jesus guys, why buy gens and not wearing them? what's the point keeping them new? At that point I think you're better off buying gold instead.

Good question. I've been pretty lucky wearing my 16610 for over 25 years. I fell off some rocks at Laguna Beach wearing my 16520, and got some nasty scratches that Rolex took out. I've made money on some of my watches, but overall, I would have done better staying out of watches and exotic cars.

I didn't even know about 1:1 clones until 6 weeks ago.
