So fun times.. I was removing the rep hands to do a dial swap and the seconds hand left its post on the pinion.
Not the first time I’ve encountered this so I removed the post from the pinion and went to reassemble the hand - except this time when I picked up the post in my tweezers…. Oops - that sickening sound… “pop”! As a microscopic metal part flies out of my tweezers and into the carpet.
Does anyone know whether a replacement post could be found anywhere? I’ve been able to find generic ones on Esslinger but without knowing the height and diameter I have no idea what to buy… I’d prefer not to have to find a whole new seconds hand..
