I agree that profit should increase in correlation with the value of the product and in this case I figured that in to my estimates somewhat. Certainly Andrew deserves some extra profit for having the 7753 available and put in the watch. If Silix is selling a watch with 7753 at $750 then a similar watch with a little gold, only on the bezel, which is so cheap to do (the difference between a full gold daytona and a SS version is $30 on Andrew's site), should be priced at about $800. Andrew and Josh always charge a little bit more, but do you really think it is just slighty overpriced? We're talking overpriced by about $400 dollars. That's not slightly overpriced as far as I'm concerned. $875, $950, maybe even a grand, that might be just slightly overpriced. Making a ridiculous $500 dollar profit, that is hugely overpriced.
Just went back to Andrew's site and noticed there is a 7753 Santos in SS for $798, so why the $500 dollar price increase for a little gold on the bezel? That should mean I have about 3/4 of an ounce of 24kt solid gold on that bezel.
