Yes, he/she is human and yes, there is always room for improvement. However, if no one points out the flaws, where will the improvement come from? There are some obvious dark/weak spots in the lume job pictured here. I'm sure this modder will get better and this will become less of an issue. For now, though, it *is* an issue and we have a certain responsibility to point it out.

Yes the pin on your watch looks just like one of DSN's or TWP's, or PureTime's or any other dealer offering the tall canon pinion mod. If you are having a modder install the tall canon pin, though, you might as well have them also file/polish the top of the pin flat as to be more "correct", no?

The issue that I take exception to is that I see and hear this "he's learning" attitude, a new guy... learning... charging people for mods.. while still learning... (if you dont see red flags by now your blind!) ... and then to see claims of "he's the best modder in EU".. where in the hell is this stuff coming from? Where does this guy come from? How long has he been in the hobby? Does he go by a different username on the boards? What is it? If he has been around for a long time, why is he using a different username? etc..etc..etc..

I dont know what forum this guy comes from but on RWI, RWC TRC & RWG, this stuff does not fly.. and that is why as offshore said.. there is action being taken to protect people from this stuff... and RWI is right on board with it.

You do not offer your services for sale (this is an assumption on my part.. that you paid for this) until you perfect your art.
I just see all of these people with an account at tritech and a recent order for cannon pinions and now they are a member endorsed "modder".

So why so passionate about this d4m??? Because.. we try to protect the community as best as we can & ... who do you think the members come to and ask for help when things go really bad and there are hundreds of dollars involved.

Daytona4me's posts on both pages are along the same line as what taka would post.

and the best way to improve it's say panerex's work is mediocre?
have you seen the pictures Pirvan posted?
Maybe I'm blind, but, I really like panerex's work. Probably I'm new in this hobby and I have too much to learn.

Well, just saying "Wow, looks great!" certainly isn't going to encourage any improvement, is it? :?

Look at the lume pics on the first page, there are obvious dark/weak spots or flaws in the lume job. If I'd paid for this lume job, you can bet it would be getting sent back for a repair or I'd be getting a refund.

I'm not really knocking panerex, no one is born knowing how to do this stuff. However, when you start charging for your services there is a certain standard that should be met, IMO.

Unfortunately I have to agree with babola, that lume job as it sits *is* mediocre.

@pakin -- Glad to hear it! The flattened/polished cannon pin is a detail mod that often gets overlooked. You're right, we're all here to learn. :)

Beautiful watch. One point I just don´t understand is why people make such a fuss about the luming? I don´t need to read the watch in dark, even less to show it to others in dark, so what´s the big thing here?

I dont think there is anyone here prepared to deal or analyize your position... it goes against everything we belive! lol....
We might find ourselves in some deep dark cave with no light at all... and the only way for us to survive is to know what time it is... thus we must put our lives in the hands of modders who can slap the lume on!

Standard lume is nowhere close to the genuine. We are all striving for perfection here, and a PAM that doesn't glow is like a Submariner without a bezel insert, and a PAM with bumpy lume is a dead giveaway.

Besides, you've never tried to read the time in a movie theater?

Absolutely, positively, must have lume. Just walk from bright sunlight into a dark room and see if it makes a difference. 8)

2 kids, no time to go to movies :)
I´ll get my Pams modded after they´ve grown up.

Join the club, although with a bit of proper time management I manage to squeeze in few min a day for this hobby. Some of my mods have taken over a month to finish due to this, but hey, there are more important things in life than watches, right ? No ? LOL!
