Hi Nix, welcome to RWI.
I would like to ask you the one question I'm surprised no one has asked yet. Who told you a Rolex sub (let alone a DSSD) is going to be a great investment? I can think of many watches that are a good investment (mainly vintage pieces and a few select limited editions) but the ones you have mentioned are not amung them.

Col.

Lol, I dont really want to take everything out just to take pics.

How very odd!! Your watches are depreciating in value, and you don't like to handle them - one does wonder what you get out of your hobby ;)

Come on - you have had great advice from the forum and been saved from the scam sites, let's have some eyecandy in return!! I have never yet met a watch collector who does not jump at the slightest opportunity to get their collection out, handle it, photograph it, and generally talk non-stop about it to anyone who shows the slightest interest - and you will get plenty of interest here!

To paraphrase one of the mottoes of the forum - "Photos, or it doesn't exist"!!!

Hey Nixmazda,

I would recommend heading over to the Rolex section, and reading the Stickied posts. You will learn how to differentiate the quality of the reps in an instant and increase your knowledge about the rep world

Haha I assure you its really a pain in the butt taking them out of the safe, removing them from boxes and shooting pics of them all. Although, I promise that once I receive the rep I decide on...I will gladly do a comprehensive review of it compared to my gen.

I bet it wouldn't be at all difficult to post a tagged pic (forum name, date, your member name, written on a slip of paper) in front of the safe... door open, with watch boxes inside. Save the unboxing, etc. for later, but at least would give the story some credibility. Probably wouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

Mazda... you don't own a jet by chance do you?!

I keep my 73 Panerais in a safety deposit box in Zurich, so I need the jet to fly out there every morning to wind them.....:stir:

They are from different series. If you look close you will see one version is the older style with no rehaut engraving and the other has the newer engraved rehaut.

What coop said, one is the old series, one is the new.
Note: these are the same watches available in the TimesShops promo offer linked to above at 100 less than that price.

I´m noticing where this thread is heading...
Unfortunately I can´t contribute with anything myself, since all my watches are locked in at my castle in Monaco.
Usually I could take a really sharp picture of the interior of my castle and at my watches, but unfortunately I´ve rented my spy satellite to NASA this week.

Do I see jetmid 2 here

Come on mate, when someone asked you to show pics of your watches you either said you don't want to take them out the safe or you ignored them lol. Give your story some credibility. You see people are busting your chops already. Opening the safe, writing your name down on a piece of paper along with RWI and the date, putting it in the safe and snapping a picture of it is too much pain in the ass? As some people said, you don't have to open the boxes, just take a pic with the boxes closed but have your name written down on a piece of paper :)

For all those that don't believe me about all my gen watches...well here is a photo of them with a hand written note to prove they are my watches...
They were taken in my watch display cabinet.

Point me in the right direction guys! Ive been seriously concidering ordering from either Bestswiss, Idealwatches or Replicaco, but I was lucky enough to stumble on this forum. So instead of wasting my money and getting scammed. Im going to take some advice from the pros!

Here's what Im looking for:
- black sub
- ceramic
- everything from glidelock clasp to new case to be on point
- the best swiss movement available (willing to pay for a modded ETA gen clone)

Budget is $1,500

And if I can get a few within my budget then Id LOVE an LV sub (non ceramic version with black dial)

I am confused about the direction in which this thread seems to have gone.

It seems that most of the replies to the OP's opening post seem to be focusing on if the OP really does own a collection of gens that are locked away in a safe.

Why do we care if he does or odes not have a collection of gens?
Maybe I am missing something here but it did not seem to me as if the OP was flaunting his so called collection in our faces.

If the OP does in fact have a grand collection of gens in a safe than the more power to him.

If the OP in fact has no such collection than he has my sympathy. A person who has to go through such measures just to be able to feel good about himself must be living a pretty sad life.

So what if he does or does not have all of those gens.
What is the difference to us?
Does it make any of us feel better about ourselves to know that this guy doesn't really have that collection in his safe?

This guy didn't come off as being some sort of know it all.
This guy came here to this forum for help.
Isn't that what we do here?
