I cant speak for anyone else but the white has always seemed easier to read in lower light and stands out a bit better which makes it more practical for me. You should always go with what sparks your interest/ aesthetic though and if the black dial is your jam, go for it.The white dial looks really good as well. Sorry to ask this again, but is there a specific reason why the white dial seems to be more popular among members of this forum? I’m
I was going to order the black dial one, as I prefer that, but tempted to get both now.
It all comes down to personal preferences but the "Polar" aka white dial is generally more desirable due to the uniqueness of it.The white dial looks really good as well. Hi bro, do you think this could fit a gen crystal? The cyclop position should be good.. thanksBro this model looks like it has the proper (larger diameter) date plate and datewheel.
Shown next to the dismal JVSF
And next to Gen
Best guess is it would bro.Hi bro, do you think this could fit a gen crystal? The cyclop position should be good.. thanks

The Explorer line itself is generally black dials so the white dial is just different as it "shines" better being a white dial.
I’ve never had the chance to wear any of them. So it’s hard for me to really see the differences you mentioned above.I cant speak for anyone else but the white has always seemed easier to read in lower light and stands out a bit better which makes it more practical for me. The only thing stop me to do the same is the movement which not the new 3285
Possibly, but the DD3285 may not be easy to purchase separately. This was (and is) the case with the vs3235 movement — impossibly to buy except inside a VSF watch.one can always swap the movement later with a newer one, no?
Black dials are always a good choice. In my opinion black rep dials always do tend to get it right when compared to colored dials. Colored dials can be a shade or two off, as above the previous Polars had an issue with the grayness or shade of white.Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have been always more inclined to dark dials, in this case the black one. I do think the polar looks good. So I might consider trying something new and step out of my comfort zone
Nice, I’m seriously considering having something else (the polar). I got 6 replica watches in total. I honestly only end up loving 2 of them. Both of them black dials. Submariner VSF and Red Bezel BB58 ZF.I really just love the white dial because it’s so different. I have a sub and this to me is the exact opposite .
Oh men, this looks so good. Definitely on top of my gen list if I would get one. I find it’s better value at the current price than the GMT.

On another note, I saw on some instagram dealers account a explorer 2 with an awesome looking patina. The dial looks beige. Never seen that one before. The hands look exactly (to my untrained eye) like the GMT hands. Super sexy look.
Ps: I just see I can easily insert an image to the post, so I’ll do that.
