Apparently Josh worked out a cut-rate deal on EMS shipping for my watch. For a reduced charge my 026 came to America via this Vickers Velos:

026 has been my grail for a long time. I am really, really happy with this watch.

The going rate is like 260ish give and take a few bucks.

One thing I just discovered on these DLC finishes. If you touch the case with your finger, the oils on your skin leaves a slightly dark mark. In the close up photos of my 026 and others, you can see a bit of a "splotchy" appearance. What you are seeing is not variation in the DLC color, it is oil from finger prints. I understand that you can apply gun oil, or high spf sunscreen to the DLC finish to remove the prints, but I believe that will permanently darked the finish. The other option is using a nice pencil eraser (like the ones on mechanical pencils). The eraser completely removes the dark spots and turns the whole case lighter, to its original, no finger oil finish.

The smudges don't really bug me, but if they bug you, and you don't want to risk turning your finish darker by using sunscreen or gun oil, just get your pencil eraser out!

BTW How is the strap?? Looks nice like if you wouldn't need to buy an aftermarket strap for this watch.


But I think it would be great with the "1860 Decima Black" from strap-works...

Kaniel- Other than the rubber Panerai straps that come with the some pam reps, I never have used the straps that were included with my pams.

The leather strap that comes with this 026 is an exception. I have some nicer straps from makers like Donerix, etc. and I am not saying this strap is at that level by any means- it is not. However, this rep strap is actually pretty decent. Good enough that I am going to use this strap for a little while.

Also, if you like the 009, there is one for sale right now in the member's sales area.
