001B sneak peek -- UPDATED PICS!

Here is a quick and dirty lume shot that vac took for me prior to buttoning up this and my SFSO that I posted in the Breitling forum.

Rest assured that more pics will follow once the watches are safely back in my hands! As usual, I think vac did a superlative job.

EDIT -- I got the watch back from vac yesterday. Here it is, complete with a relume and the installation of DSN's non-AR crystal. Sadly, my Palp crown wouldn't fit. So, here it is, I think it turned out really nicely.

hooligan you are the pro with the the close backs. how is this different from a 111? Just a closed back and no AR on the crystal?

Yep, you got it, o_p. The 001 was the predecessor to the 111. The dial is just the same as a 111E/F/G, just closed back and, in the case of the gen, the OPII movement in the 001 and the OPXI movement in the 111.

That one's actually been sold. But I thought the reference pictures would be useful. One of the things that surprised me was the quality of the movement decoration. It suprised a lot of the 'Ristis, too, especially when I posted it over there. The new closed back models, like the 000 and the 005, don't have that quality of decoration.

As for my new pickup? Well let's just say "chill with the still:"

Hooligan, definitely no movement shots as of yet, but there were some on Risti. Let me see if I can find them. The 000 is fantastic. Had a couple of choices, but ultimately decided that with Panerai, in many cases, simple is better. It's my day-to-day watch. It's just wonderfully balanced and clean, dresses up or down depending on the strap. In a word: perfect!

VWF, yes, not as pretty. I wouldn't say it's not as nicely decorated, I just prefer the graffiti decoration in combination with the squared bridges.

My desparate search for a CONUS 232 is keeping me pre-occupied, so posting in this thread has been a welcome distraction.

I can tell on the sandwich dial without even trying (I have a GEN 111) but the sausage dial reps look pretty good to me and since I have not help both in my hands, I cannot tell as easily. Also, since the thread was started talking about a REP (at least, I think that was a rep ), it threw me off when Virginia was talking about a different one.
