Hello Everyone,

Im sure the Patek mentioned above is liked or at least known of by a few Patek lovers here. I know it is a rare and older watch, so I am guessing it is a longshot... but I was wondering if anyone had a source or "suggestion" for anyone here (from the trusted sellers) that I might find this watch?

If not, maybe I could have different people make or source "pieces" of the watch and I could build it?

Any advice, tips or pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all very much in advance.

Bill

Here's a rep of the 2499 with an 18kt gold case. They're ridiculously expensive though, I think I remember seeing the price before and it was like $10,000? In terms of similarity to the gen one, I am unsure. The dial seems pretty blotchy and the print doesn't look clean. I just sent an inquiry on the ref. 530 and if the price is reasonable I'll have one made in the future.

Please update if you can on the price, I always wondered how much expensive that site really is.

I asked about a steel 1463 a couple months back. They sent me photos of the dials available and the price quote. I told them I'll be in touch when I'm ready to spend that much on a replica and the dude told me "thanks for wasting our time." Kinda turned me off from buying from them. I do not know about the price for a 2499 in gold but a steel 1463 was about USD 11500 with a Valjoux movement and without the movement, it's about USD 2000 for the case, dial, hands, and shipping.

Wow.

This would be enough to turn me off.

Yeah, it was a weird experience as I've never had a dealer treat me like that before. I would understand if they had a price indicated on their website, but they do not. But it seems like no one is doing high quality replicas of vintage Patek Philippe so we may not have an option but that guy.

Yes it is

, I already viewed it for some Blancpain but as you can read the prices are steep in that side too!

Plus, his behavior is not acceptable...

Seems like people are being off put by his behavior when inquiring about his products. But he does sell really cool shit that no one else makes so I guess he's basically cornered that market for rare vintage watches.

His son was following his footsteps until Rolex decided to sue his son, enough for him to retire. But Phong who has been in the business for a long time is still running. Please note the guy is like 70yrs old, so kinda grumpy but still reliable.

While it might not be a 2499, it is of the same era, and has some things in common with it's big sibling.

I built this one about 10 years ago; it's been a labor of love and a cherished part of my collection.

Do you built it yourself?!

Yessir, that is correct. Spent a lot of time at the workbench tinkering with this stuff over the years... Have built a lot of vintage Rolex in that time, but vintage era Patek has a special place in my heart :)

Correct sir. This is an oversized ref 130 (35mm) in steel, I'd say circa early to mid 1940's. These Patek builds have genuine dials, hands and crowns; the time only pieces (ref 570) here have genuine Patek calibers 27SC and 12-120 while the ref 130 has a common, run of the mill Valjoux 23, which is what the caliber 13'''130 was based on.

Cases were custom fabricated.

My old thread on these is here:
