The screws on this watch are so small in real life that you won't notice these defects, it's a different case with the larger screws of an Offshore model.

Even I have to agree with you here lol.

Besides Even in the pictures of gens, the screws at 11 and 1 don't point in the same direction.

+1.
Rep owners in general are a lot more pedantic than gen owners. When buying new gens it’s always collecting the watch, drinking the champagne, maybe a few pics for the Instagram and carrying the entire shebang, box and all home. $30k watch and what QC pics?!
Yes one may argue that AP or Rolex has done the QC for the owner at the given high premium price but the kicker is that I’ve seen flaws and defects on my brand new gens too. Did I reject them? Yes I did. These are high end watches and I spotted the defects myself in person and therefore they are visible to the naked eye. If there’s anyone curious, one was a dial print defect ant the other was a chrono hand being reset to the 10 o’clock instead of the 12 o’clock position. Lol. I did not bring a throng of guys with me to AP when collecting the watch or a 10x loupe to scrutinize the watch.

When buying reps, you start by zooming 10x on the QC pics and start picking on flaws (some real, most not) on a watch less than 50mm in diameter in real life. Arrows and circles and grids are drawn on the QC pics, and shared with the community because it’s important that the $500 rep watch needs hundreds of pairs of eyes to scrutinize it to ensure it’s perfectly aligned and all. So typically, a lot of rep watches using the miyota movements arrived at the owner address looking all fine but sounding like helicopters taking off.

I have a pet peeve against owners drawing circles and lines and grids and also QC pics being shared with the community. These are completely unnecessary for a novelty watch costing less than a set of new AP straps. If owners can see the flaws on the QC pics then reject them. If watch looks ok overall, don’t zoom in to deliberately spot flaws and definitely don’t send the QC pics to the forum for extended checks under one pretext or another. If one cannot spot any flaws, then the watch is good enough. If one is intent on spotting flaws, then nothing will be good enough. There will always be flaws. So where to draw the line when it comes to QC?

Guys, it’s a $500 watch and not a $30k gen. It’s reasonable to ensure that it’s the correct model you ordered and dial print and general alignment is good. That watch is ticking on the timegrapher. That it is dirt, scratch and blemish free. The community will not wear your watch, you will. If you want to be pedantic and picky it’s your right of course, but kindly keep it between the dealer and yourself. A lot of times, vision and opinions are subjective and debating over a picture of one person’s watch in the forum is plain silly and a waste of time and forum space IMHO.
I could not agree more.

Every watch has flaws, even gen AP if you look closely enough. That's just something you need to accept.

Aflop is a friend of mine and I do like his work and his personality. I’ve been told that I’ve the abrasiveness of a metal file and that Aflop is like the gentle waters of the river. Life can be unfair sometimes :hehehe:

Staff edit:

Will urge you not to post your QC pics again asking for general opinions.
Firstly it’s against the rules.
Second it’s your watch. If you can’t see anything wrong then it’s good.

Stop posting your QC pics across every thread. It’s getting annoying.
