Mrshagz, why did you choose to use D4M when his site makes his terms (which obviously don't suit you) very clear:

I will guarantee your watch through customs and it will not be dead on arrival. This is where my warranty stops.
I will not warranty against dust particles, misalignments, etc.
I am probably not the noob dealer of choice, buy from me if you want the same watch for less.. and no hand holding.

Well Daytona4me isnt responding to my emails so I guess thats the customer support you get when you buy a watch from him, and I guess im just a big baby for expecting to have a decent watch come to my door. Guess paying almost 300 bux for watch and expecting some sort of quality is ridiculous to ask.

I did not remove the clasp it fell off, and its starting to become pretty annoying that every issue is being blamed on me, I guess you missed sales 101..customer is always right, never blame issues on the customer, you make a customer happy regardless of issues. I'm not going to be bullied into believing this is all my issues.

Well mate, I'd say you are going to have to buy gens now.
Because with that post you pretty much made sure that few if any of the dealers here will sell you a damn thing.

D4M is a gentlman and a scholar, concepts that may admitedly be beyond you. He has gone above and beyond his TOS in a futile attempt to keep you happy and you repay him in that manor? I think it's time for a new hobby mate or at the least, a new forum.

Also, I have NFI what sales school you went to but they speak crap! The customer is allways right 'ey? I bet you are one of those peeps who delight in making a huge fuss untill the poor store clerk caves in and you get your way regardless of right or wrong. You do realise that D4M stood to make less than 30 dollars on that deal don't you? I am sure you noted how much cheaper he was than any other dealer on that watch. There is a reason for that, he makes stuff all on a sale, thus the TOS.

Maybe you will come to see the light one day, I'd like to think so but somehow I think not. You prob are going to fit in too well around here.

Just my 2c.

I'm confused with all the bashing of this guy and his thread? He might be somewhat new to reps, or DSSDs, and seems new to Daytona4me and his "policies and terms".

Next, he wasn't trying to point out a particular seller as the culprit...the seller jumped right in and made that point and then started the bashfest which you guys have all dogpiled on for whatever reason.

I say, just refund the guy his money?!?! What is the big deal? You guys say it is a good rep, someone else will buy it and will be happy with it, case over.

Anyway, Daytona4me, can you get just the bezel inserts and would you be willing to resell those? It is impossible to find the correct spacing at 10 and pearl...your factory has these, and if they are willing to sell those...I am in for 4 of them right now...seriously.

ETZ will also do it, but they just don't deliver...there are many of us paid and now are just waiting with more empty promises from them.

Thanks

No one is bashing him that I can see. D has gone above and beyond to offer help to the guy with a new insert. Yet he's started another thread over at RWG but has convieniently left that detail out. And in that thread he appears to be indicating that his emails have in fact been answered. TB has been there I'm sure he can chime in.

"the seller jumped right in and made that point and then started the bashfest..."

Nope, didn't happen. Looked twice, pretty sure that didn't happen. The seller, nope. wasn't him.

I'm Pretty Popular
The prob I see Tech is that he asks for opinions on this issue and whenever anyone asks a question in order to acertain what the issues are he starts railing on them as if we are victimizing him. As for the seller, he did not and has not grilled this guy which shows an extreme depth of character on D's part. Combine this with the fact the OP's telling this different on another forum! What gives?! Most people here at RWI are members of the other forums as well.

The great thing about this forum is that everyone here really works hard to help and assist others in this hobby. There are some really great people here. But in order to find out the issues that are going on, people have to ask questions...even ones that the OP may think are stupid questions. It's called narrowing the scope of the problem.

The OP was taking about the ball bearings on the clasp and having difficulty lubing them in order to make the clasp work better. People, including me, have been asking questions in order to help him. Many of us thought he was taking about the actual clasp (where the dive expander rests). So, we were a bit thrown off by the pic of the clasp-latch that had "fallen" off. there are no bearings in the clasp-latch that I am aware of (I'm looking at my V5 right now) and I have to ask, how much force did the OP put on the clasp-latch while trying to work on the clasp? Or did the clasp-latch fall off due to a bad pin? Or did he remove it in order to get a better angle on the rest of the clasp? So I asked why he removed the clasp and the response I get, amongst a long dissertation about how is being victimized, is that it fell off. Ok question answered, but damn dude, it's just a question!

You did nothing wrong. Nor did anyone else. The flip has no ball bearings in it. If you look at the pics it actually looks like a springbar. Simple to put back in.

Id bet my left nut any one of you guys would not be happy with this watch. End of story. Ive been on other forums where guys have analyzed their watches with a freaking microscope at the tiniest detail. Yet i've been practically ridiculed for my concerns. Not cool.

He has a point here guys, we need to let up a little.

That said, give D achance to solve this. Ive known him a LONG time, as do alot of members here, making crass remarks about his customer service is not needed, he is the heart of this forum, he will do what he can.

@Techlogik,
You are confusing the hell out of me..
I (the seller) ... jumped in, made the point and started a bash fest? ?? Really?

What's the big deal, just refund the guys money.. Sure,, please paypal me the fees associated with that transaction and I'll promptly do this. Thanks.

Just refund the guys money... no big deal.. right? So, I make my warranty claims obvious, prior to sale, post it as the very first thing you would see on my website... so there is no mistaken how I operate..
Buy the heavily discounted watch, and if you do not like it, and it is outside of the warranty that you agreed to when you purchased it, just cause a shit fit on the forum,, and apparently another forum? so why in the hell start a tread there? what is the motive?

And that should be ok? Why? The risks I assume and you assume are clearly stated. Why is it now different?

Also, once again, I am confused as hell techlogik, please correct me if I am wrong, honestly I hope I am,, it appears you are pretty much slamming me here, making claims that I started a bash fest against this guy.... and in the next breath you are asking me to source you something? I pray this is not the case.. if it is.. well, I think you could guess what my opinion would be here on this.

Last I knew, I was going to attempt to source a bezel (not because of warranty but because I'm trying to help) that got twisted to that I AM sourcing it, which I do not know if I can,, now I hear that ETZ cant source them for anyone... this is what I was worried about. If he cannot get them from the factory, how will I be able to (it's the same factory)?

Apparently I am not replying to the guy, ?? Again, I am on a mission to get a bezel ... did something change?

Has he emailed me? I have no clue, I have not worked on emails in several days... hmm, holidays, uhh.. been in depositions ALL FRIGGIN DAY for the last 5 days including today. Getting him late,, trying to have somewhat of a holiday life,,
Hell, the ONLY Christmas shopping I have done has been to buy a watch winder for the members of RWI to give away free...

So let me stop... take my time away from finding a bezel insert, incur more cost per techlogik's request, refund this guy for receiving a watch that does not fall under any warranty we agreed upon before purchase and send the message to every single member that my desired and posted operating procedures mean jack shit, just do whatever the hell you want to do ,, daytona4me will pick up the slack for you.

No friggin problem... let me bend over now, do another community service,, mail that ****** back to me please, when I receive it I'll refund your money.

Can I help anyone with anything else?

:screwed:

Anyways this has gotten way outta hand, and it all comes down to disclosure (sure you say all these things you wont warranty, am i just the unlucky guy who got the problems?? I bought off you cause you're a trusted seller).. Do not advertise you're watch as "Rolex DeepSea (DSSD) v5, **BEST VERSION**" .. I dont give a damn if youre making only 30 bux off a sale, and you're going outta your way.. And dont tell me you're in this biz outta the kindness of your heart.. I bought the watch from you because from what I was reading you sold credible good watches. I came on here to ask for opinions and everyone made me out to look like a crazy person. I was unsatisfied because I had higher expectations because buying from someone with so much clout I expected a great watch. I did not expect perfection, but 300 bux comes with an idea of quality.. Sorry if my expectations were to receive a watch that didnt have a clasp pop off during dinner, clasp wouldnt stay shut, and visible issues with the watch. After digging, and getting feedback from other folks I know now that you and another dealer are getting these DSSD's with ISSUES... Obv you put a sale on them to get them sold, cause for lack of a better term they're crap..So enuff with the BS, stand up to your product and call a spade a spade. I from the beginning was asking for accountability to the product being sold.

The thing that pisses me off reading this is that these things are said right from the get go:

I will guarantee your watch through customs and it will not be dead on arrival. This is where my warranty stops.
I will not warranty against dust particles, misalignments, etc.
I am probably not the noob dealer of choice, buy from me if you want the same watch for less.. and no hand holding.

Are you kidding me OP? When you have all the information you need to make a decision and the results don't please you, you're going to hunt down the the person who put up that sign... and have a tantrum because you have welts all over from swimming?

People come here to learn how to stay safe. Some people like to be adventurous and swim in the ocean, some go beyond the breakers. Others prefer to swim in pools instead. No matter what, you're going to get wet, and chances are if you've done your homework, you won't drown... or get stung by a jelly fish. (please note that I am NOT calling D4M a jelly fish!!!! :) )

I offered to buy the watch because I could see that the issues were very easy to fix. If you had handled this differently, I'd be more than happy to tell you what to do. Now I couldn't care less. In my school, we would have had a lot of fun at your expense.

You have no clue, and those who do, you ignore their comments.

You say (via email) you will now file a credit card dispute, this will cause my privileges to get revoked. Why do you want to do this. I have offered you a refund when I receive the watch.

I have already proved that I'm honest to you, now you question me?

Somebody needs to take their Midol....chillax...don't get so defensive about it.

I take back I characterized your response as bashing, but certainly about 5-6 others were certainly bashing the guy, any neutral party like myself can see that clearly.

Hence why I posted what is the deal with all the negative talk and stuff.

Maybe you guys had emails/PMs back and forth that wasn't posted and part of the story isn't known, who knows. Two sides to every story.

Good luck to you both on sorting this out.

Enjoy your holidays.

I also want to comment about why you bought from me. You did not research me in any way as I have done nothing but advertise that I only sell the exact same things that everyone else does,, nothing better,, in any way.

oh,, I just saw your comment that I and another dealer are getting "the watches with issues" and selling them. If you are implying that I am buying "B" stock or problem stock for less, you are seriously wrong.

@D4M, Things like this will leave a sour taste in your mouth, but you know what, if I were you, I'd just get this guy to send you the watch back, give him his refund and get him out of your hair. It's just not worth the hassle of trying to help/placate him. As others have said before, reps aren't for him, he was expecting a $300 rep to be close to a gen costing several thousand...no matter what you do he will NEVER be happy...sorry to see you getting this s**t because your sale terms couldn't be any clearer imo...

I'm not going to have my integrity questioned by this guy, I'm so friggin pissed over this I can hardly keep from shaking.

I've refunded this guys money at this point, even without getting the ******* watch yet.
Now let's see if he does the honest thing and returns it to me.

When I get it I'll throw it up for sale here and you guys can have it for whatever..
