OK well why when I asked him for a close up picture of that part of the watch did he refuse to send me one?
Because he knows what it is - dirt stuck to the sticky side of the protective stickers.
He also refused to send me a picture of the movement, said that you cant take the back off the watch because it voids the warranty (we all know thats utter bullshit).
Do we ? He's a TD, he'll sell you what you ordered. I have more trust and faith in him than I have in you.
He also told me not to zoom in on pictures FFS.
Why zoom in ? Would you do it if you were purchasing a genuine Rolex ? Zoom in on any watch and you'll see a lot of things you weren't expecting to see.
Did you see the pictures? You must be blind to not see the problems, if its dirt why not remove it and just send another photo as client asked?
Yes, I can see the problem - the protective stickers on the watch have lifted slightly, dirt has stuck to the sticky side and a bunch of mental midgets on a second rate forum think that dirt is actually marks on the case.
Just RL it and ask for another one. Thats in your right.
And I'm sure the TD will exercise his right to RL irritating customers who don't know what they're talking about.
And if it is damage then thats the first watch I've seen from a "TD" so far that has been that bad. After seeing hundreds of QC photos of hundreds of watches that are all in great condition (and im not talking about misaligned bezels or numbers etc as that is expected) I've not seen one with damage to the actual body of the watch..
And you still haven't seen a watch with damage to the actual body of the watch - because it's dirt stuck to the sticky side of the protective stickers, not marks on the case.
dont worry and stick to reddit
Excellent advice ! I suggest both of you apply this rigorously for the remainder of 2021 and stick to reddit for all your reading and posting - and I mean that.
Andrew has been a TD for a long time, he'll no doubt still be a TD when both of you have long disappeared from the rep forums.
If you have an issue / question regarding a watch being sold to you by a TD, then ask the question like a normal human being - don't try to play the demanding, knowledgeable connoisseur, announcing that you'll be having the watched 'formally QC'd ' on reddit etc, it just makes you look like a fool and irritates the dealer.
Half of the problems related to watch purchases and TDs and a breakdown in communication are created by the noob buyer, who is convinced the dealer is trying to pull a fast one on him and sell him a turd (because he's in China, ya know, he's gonna try and scam you, sell you a POS watch that no one else wanted, so you gotta be real smart - smarter than the TD).
