i dont have the "hands skipping" problem... but it isn't smooth! :(

i think it has to do with the face that, the lightning bolt seconds hand is heavier than the usual second hand, thus making it harder for the gears to churrrrrrrrn :p

thoughts?

Do you have the Asian 21j version?, I do and instead of skipping between the 2 and 5 like some others have posted, it skips between 7 and 11 if I hold it upside down.

Its the same thing at the end of the day. My watch is worse between 2 and 5 than it is between 7 and 11 when upside down.

Like I said on a post on RWG and on here, its to do with the extra weight of the 'thunderbolt' seconds hand exaggerating the backlash between the gears of the movement.

I wonder if the DG 4813 Fast Beat movement would fix the problem, eurotimez have them for $25, they are the high hand stack version too.

Its not a dealer problem so why contact them?

I too am thinking about swapping out the movement for a DG4813. At the end of the day there is backlash between the gears due to the manufacturing tolerances not being as tight as they could be which all comes down to cost.

Looking at the problem from a mechanical point of view the DG4813 may still very well have the backlash between gears due to it still being a cheap movement, but the 'stuttering' will not be as noticeable due to it beating at a higher rate compared to the DG2813.

Why the watchmakers dont use this kind of movements if its cheaper than Asian ETA and smoother than 21kbhp A21J and if its adaptable?

If watches with these movements were 15-30$ more than classic 21j i would take these but i wouldnt pay almost the double for an Asian ETA

Just tell people who have no idea about the watch that the lightning bold second hand is supposed to do that to look like lightning.

They won't have a clue either way.

Hahahahahaha not to AD, I guess... LOL

Can the movement be replaced with another one like Asian ETA?
