I got this during the Brüsselworld 2009. Please enlightened me about this vintage Daytona. The movement that comes with it is known as "mystery movement" and I think it sucks. I know that this should have a Valjoux 72/23 movement. The latter is a cheaper movement without subdial at 6 but nevertheless a donor watch should costs about 300-500USD.

From service history, it's known to have Clark's crystal, gen crown and aftermarket pushers. The bracelet has been changed too. Anything else to look out for?

I have NFI mate but I do know I love it. These are my favorite 'tona by a long shot and that is a damn nice example.
I gather it's a franken of some sort?

I bought this off a member ages ago. It's 7750 powered and everything works spot on, just wondered how good a rep it is...be brutal, as it's just gathering dust in my watchbox and I might be getting shut soon, I need to be as honest as possible in my description if I do decide to sell...

Yours is not a DW case... and probably comes with low beat Asian 7750.

I got one from Trevor last time for 135USD new.

Cheers Taka, just checked my message archive, bought it unworn for $140 shipped, originally off Hont for $180'ish (is it just me but everyone claims Hont is the cheapest, I find Robert beats his prices everytime?)

As reps go though does this one suck?

I am not too sure if I have replied this... I think the pushers are wrong, the top pusher needs to be slightly assymetrical. The shape of the pusher is not so correct too.

I think it's much better to get another case then start modding.

Agreed, spin's ones are far ahead.

You asked us to be brutal, I'll think out loud. Far from me the intention to be rude or offend your watch (which is a good watch anyway), mate. Only trying to help =)

Deployment is part of a different band, the riveted one.
Bezel is too hi on the case, it looks rather weird.
Pushers are symmetrical and so is the case.
I can't see the crystal very well from your pics but it looks quite low on the bezel.
All n all, I wouldn't mod that one.
As I said, no offense cos I really think only an expert would notice those faults and your watch is good as it is.
Good luck =)
