Not my photos but you will get the idea.

The business ride-smooth and quiet-I love this car

The dog car-fun to drive if you don't mind oil leaks and strange electrical gremlins.

The little lady's birthday present-I drive it every once in a while. Mostly to get it washed. Argh!

This is my favorite car. Its in winter storage now. I bought it over 20 years ago and have stored it every winter. 120km on the dial, and placed 2nd in the southern Ontario fiero show. While in storage I drive a Lincoln Continental and a Dodge Spirit.

Hmmm... perhaps I should start with Golf R32. Damn... this thing costs more than a Beemer.

I'm a Mercedes Man,

My wife drives a 1996 C280 (black elegance), and I drive a 1982 500SEC (graffiti).

I also like old cars, and I'm restoring a 1980 Galaxie Landau.

Sorry, no photos, my kids hidden the camera and I can't find it.

Cheers,

Max

Thanks mate! I do think they're great drivers' cars. Not for everyone, my boss has an E500 (last car was Lexus LS) and he says he finds Bimmers too hard-core. Which means that they're perfect for me :D

The new M6 is - ouch - way beyond a reasonable budget. If I were looking up there I'd be after a 911 .. which I am investing for .... hopefully not too far away (OK, at least 3 yrs!)

Used E60 M5s are in the USD 70s, but you can get low mileage E39 M5s, 2003, for 40s. Good buy as this is a modern classic. A mate of mine who has one reckons: how much more power do you really need? (has a 400hp 5L V8 8) )? Also, you can boost them to 550hp+. My mate hardly gets out of 3rd gear aroud town :D

One little point that most don't know, is that the cars are properly "Bimmers", and the 'bikes are "Beemers" - it's written up in Roundel, the official BMW CCA mag  (yeah, very anal - like watch nit-picks  )

@ BBB, my dream car is the Beamer 'Quarter-to-Eight' (745)

One day I will be blessed to be able to afford those car payments comfortably.

I had a 2004 E500 and it was the worst effing piece of dogshite ever pretending to be a car. Ya, nice engine, plenty quick, OK handling, but it was at the dealer for repair for weeks at a time. Mysterious electrical issues, adjustable suspension issues (as in, the suspension just collapsed one day)....you name it. IMO, MB sucks ass. I personally blame Chrysler's influence. Whatever, this is a sore subject for me.

Anyway, I've got a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S and the old lady drives a 2006 Lexus GS300 AWD. The Lexus is a boring drive, but dependable and attractive. The Cayenne is a Porsche truck, enough said.

But then it would be a Bimmer 745i (see my comment on terms above) :) That's a nice sled for sure.
