6542 PAN AM



Here is my interpretation of the iconic 6542 PAN AM, the very first Rolex watch sporting a GMT function, specially made for the american airline company.





The really special feature of this watch is the albino dial. Back then Rolex used to produce some pre-production pieces with a white dial so this makes this watch very, very rare as a gen.



As matter of fact, people in the vintage rolex commnunity weren't sure a white dial GMT existed until an article by Stefano Mazzariol was published in 2010. And some still aren't convinced.



That's just to say that, even if this was a gen watch, people would be thinking it's not



The watch consists of:

Vietnam case aged and refinished
Gen crown
Vietnam dial
Raffles roulette DWO
Raffles dwarf GMT hand
