I have talked about refinishing my basement before and making it into a home theater. Although everything isnt done, It was clean enough  to snap a picture for you guys. Had to pick up before everyone came over before the BIG GAME!

All of the trim is not finished and some additional lighting that I plan to put up is not installed yet.

When finished, I will have molding around the ceiling with lighting behind it and some other small things here and there..

It's not the biggest or the best.. but I'm proud of it.

Nice set up! I am sure Seanf will be thrilled to see a 007 and an Indiana Jones poster on the wall.

Awesome set-up.
I've got the same monster power center you have. My home theater is always changing. I just recently added a Pioneer Elite receiver, altough I may be going to separates in the future.
Home theater is addictive and expensive!
It's all worth it on movie night though.

not done yet ?

i am already jealous.....looks great, ceiling lights....and such a comfy sofa..... awesome place to crash with family and friends.

when i worked in Miami, my boss had a 125.000 dollar setup, ( only the electrical stuff with a screen coming from the ceiling ) and with custom matched amps and custom built Klipsch Horn speakers. unbelivable.

of course, a payraise was never possible.....

Nice set up, D4M. Dunno if I mentioned it, but I'm a bit of a home theater dork. Out of curiousity, why didn't you go with a projector? It looks like you've got the room for it.

Funny thing, but I see that poster of the Joker and I immediately think of BurgerFlaggen now.

Thanks for sharing your entertainment setup. All you need now is a mini fridge and a popcorn machine.

No Bar,, my 6 year old would instantly become the bartender (he has that kind of personality... always entertaining) but the wine cooler is serving as a Mountain Dew dispenser.. lol.

I would have went with the projector if I had higher ceilings but with 2 kids... a basement with 7.5 foot ceilings and a closet full of toys long enough or airborne enough to reach the projector.. it was too easy of a target. I also was unsure of how I wanted to set it up and did not want to have ports preinstalled everywhere on the ceiling so I could move it around.

I'm shocked that I get no praise from seanf specifically for the poster of 007... what gives..? I bought that just for you Sean.. lol..

Thanks for the kind remarks guys...and lady :)

What kind of AV Reciever do you have? Did you put a media PC in there?

Actually, I meant to say something about that. I dig that poster. I've actually got the Casino Royale poster in my media room. Along with Star Wars, Empire, Return of the Jedi, V for Vendetta, Pulp Fiction, Indiana Jones and Last Crusade and...... Breakfast at Tiffany's. Needless to say, the wifey had a hand in selecting the last one.

Awesome. But where's the bar?.

I'd just assumed that he would have women, handpicked by guanaco and coop, dressed in Playboy bunny costumes and serving drinks at recliner-side.

Yeah right.

Anyway, D4me, what are doing for a remote control? With kids it's a tough decision and I usually go with Harmony remotes when family and kids are involved. Nice set up, enjoy.

Harmony make some nice remotes, but if you want true customization at a pretty reasonable price, the Philips Pronto is the way to go. I've had one for about ten years, and it still works like a charm. The newer ones are pretty impressive. They're OK out of the box, but in order to get full usage out of them, you really need to spend some time customizing and programming. Steep learning curve, but worth it.

Nice accents with the tickets, film strip and clapper. It's so satisfying to do a project like this yourself. The nice part about it is that it is something everyone can enjoy. It keeps the teenagers at your house instead of who knows where as well. Here is a photo of a clock I made from an old digital alarm clock for my home theater room. It sits above one of the side channel speakers. I have a seven channel system with all B&W 805s.

I couldn't agree more Sean, but I gave up my Pronto's many months ago due to my time spent programming them. You can get really carried away. I miss them dearly, but the family likes the Harmony better and with teenagers, they can sit on it, throw it and step on it and they still work. Mine are out of that stage luckily. I might pay someone to design and program either a Pronto or a NevoSl later on down the road.
