I don't think anyone in their right mind would pay anywhere near $1800 for a rep. Just buy the cheaper rep and swap the movement out...
@ TA8088 good advice...

Hello,
I've had a 7750 valjoux in my Daytona since I purchased it in 1998. I've had no problem, and it is still keeping perfect time. Of course my daytona is a replica, but it has the verified Swiss 7750 series valjoux movement. It sounds like a hummingbird when it ticks, not like an easy going Omega Speedmaster manual wind automatic. The problem comes when you pay much less and opt for the asian copy of the swiss 7750. They are junk, and you are still paying anywhere from $190 to around $298.00 and then some above that. I think I got one of the best Daytona replicas out there, but I paid for it. The swiss 7750 to purchase today is around $1800.00. That info. came 2 days ago from an expert.

Regards,

Doug

I would seriously find yourself another expert. And if you purchased that watch in 98 then not only would it be running seconds @9 but it is not relevant to the current issues.

Love peace and joy.

That's interesting. Could you share the info about the seller?

your right brother, it doesn't even matter where it came from. it is a sec @ 9 and they are no trouble at all. after all this time if it was a sec @ 6 and still running the seconds gear would have ground a hole though the dial. lmao

I've pretty much learned not to use the chronos on my reps all that much. I have a couple that reset to like 11:59 or 12:01. I usually just run those and manually stop them at 12.

Just remove the second hand and re-index it.

i have no idea how to do something like that but it would be hilarious. lmao

when i have a chrono reset at 12:01 i just run it to the 25 minute mark and reset it. it will reset counter clockwise, if it resets to 11:59 i run it to the 35 minute mark and it will reset clock wise. that will generally fix them unless there is a big problem.

Re: A reccomendation for those looking to buy a 7750 auto

Hello Igorius,

I can't really answer to the question about the asian 7750 valjoux retetting to the exact 12:00 position or if they are typically or consistently a little off. I know my replica rolex daytona has the swiss 7750 valjoux (taken apart and verified to be the movement) and it always resets at the true 12:00 position, just because of the superior quality of the swiss over the asian copy. The swiss valjoux today (movement only) would cost around $1800. So, I guess you get what you pay for.
Have you seen the videos on the web site sinowatches? Check them out or go to YouTube.com and search daytona watches. Mickey from sinowatches personally demonstrates his selection of many watches. I was only interested in the daytonas, but it appeared to me that for a asian valjoux, the watches looked great for the price. The daytona, Paul Newman vintage daytona I am interested in runs $190 plus the western Union transfer fees. I trust Mickey and Sinowatches is not on the scam dealers list, at least as far as I can tell, I can find no derogatory comments on the site or operation.
I paid $1300.00 for my daytona and it looks like the real thing to most but those in the know can tell in an instant. To some people that makes a difference. So, to them, I say, OK, pay the $9900.00 and above to get one. For me, look for the best looking quality, settle for the inferior movement, and mush more reasonable price and get the asia working 7750. BUT..... Research, read, and e-mail, and ask many questions before you decide who to send your money to and HOW you send it. Be replica wise and knowledgeable before making any replica watch purchase. I have the better daytona, but for the price and quality of the daytonas made today, I am willing to put up with the minor problems of the asian replica movements, just because the look of the watch is very good and the price is affordable, anywhere from $190 to $300 you can find a good one. If I get tired of the hand not resetting exactly back to 12:00, I simply remove the watch and put back on my swiss daytona, and I'm a happy camper again.

Cheers and good replica hunting

AND THERE WE GO! I was wondering how long it would be before he started dropping websites.

Good artifice :)
For the small minute hand resetting at 2, I wonder why 2. I met this 3 times in total, and it was always there. Is there something special at that place in the mechanism ??

I just want to say thanks for the heads up. I was looking at some Breitlings with this movement. Luckily for me I saw this post.

Re: A reccomendation for those looking to buy a 7750 auto

I seen this thread pass but did not read it as I figured it was the same old stuff Fakey and I have been screaming about.. sure enough.. as Fakemaster said .. "D and I" (see first post).. lol..

But I want to clarify something..

For me,, the problem is the V2 Skyland, Super Avengers and the BlackBird (different reason).
I did a V1/V3 Skyland Group Buy because they have worked flawlessly..
The maker of the V1 V3 Skyland has been consistent with the models he has produced in providing quality movements in most all of his watches.

I am not convinced that the problem with the V2 is just an oiling issue. I think that may be part of it but I am thinking that the quality of the parts that make up this movement may be the culprit. The finishing of the gears, the oiling, who knows..??
But after having most of these problematic watches (at least a dozen in my hands) with their case backs off and staring at them like an idiot, I cant help but think that part of the issue lies with the balance bridge and pallet-fork/escapement wheel assembly. I guess I'll eat crow when or if I'm proven wrong but my hunches are usually pretty good.. and I just have one of those gut feelings about it.

Re: A reccomendation for those looking to buy a 7750 auto

Is this a problem with a maker that sourced a batch of bad movements, as D4M said, or is this a more systemic A7750 problem? I'm getting a really bad urge to get a Graham Oversize Diver, but I don't know if I want to part with the cash, just to have it grenade on my wrist in three months.

Cheers,
Hamish

It's not limited to a particular maker.

the problem is the V2 Skyland

well i got a v2 skyland from you back in dec and (knocks on wood) i havent had any problems with it, the chronos work fine whenever i use them, and it always resets to exactly 12...

although one thing i always do with any chrono watch is wait till the second hand just passes the 12 o clock mark to reset it, i never reset it from past 1 so that it dosent travel that far when reset...

so while i agree that there does seem to be a lot of people having issues, at the same time im sure there are a lot of people that havent...

that being said, i picked up a real 7750 for it just in case anyway :D
