I've been searching around looking for a high end version of some of the watches that Spec Ops use, or potentially just a high end that they might use. Does anyone know of any brands that are specifically used by special forces throughout the world?

Thanks,
H

Thanks for the input. I've seen some Luminox stuff but none of the watches i've seen were really high end but I haven't looked at them that much. A buddy of mine said all of his friends just wear iron man/g-shock watches but that's corpsman in the navy. I've got a friend who's a ranger but he's in afghanistan for a bit. Let me know if you guys know of any others that are worn by Seals, SAS, etc.

Thanks,
H

A friend of mine deployed in Iraq wears a Breitling SFSO and tells me Omega is also popular (on rubber) among some in his squad.

If you are looking to wear something actually worn by ops guys then you want a Suunto or Casio.

Chronosport UDT was popular for a looooong time. I have had two versions and they are bullet proof performers. My understanding is most nowadays are wearing the Suunto, Casio, Iron Man and other "low tech" dependable, easy to use, read, wear, light up in the dark, electronic and quartz watches. There is something for every need and price range. Usually price being the determining factor.

No one wears a $6K watch that might have the bracelet broken and watch fall off in the middle of hand to hand or other military training ops. They may wear them for show and at functions but rarely in the field. Lets be honest...if you hesitate a second to save your $6K watch you might lose your life or that of a friend

Sinn has commissioned some of its models for GSG9, which is one of the most highly rated counter-terrorism spec ops units out there.

Ever read the letters to Rolex? You'll find a nice story of a Ranger that used a Rolex Explorer during training and after. :)

Of course not all of them are like that. My dad was and will always be a watch nut and he preferred a speedy over any other during his time in the military, he also had a nice [now dead] Zodiac.

Trust me here. After many deployments in an A6 the best one for reliability is a quartz. Casio G shock was on my wrist every time I got the shoot cue. GEt one with tritium gas tubes for low light ops or the casio g shock with a light. They have them now when you twist your wrist 45 degree the light goes on to see the display/time.

I just got one of the best spec ops watches for a steal of $130.00 Luminox colormark

Another good tritium watch is traser. There are a few but Luminox is my fav.

MTM industries has a spec ops watch but any watch marketed like that is a lil douchy to me.

The sun and the moon are for p#@$$1e5! I use my penis to tell time!
No, a PENIS is for pu55ies - I used to pull a few hairs out of the scrotal sac of a dead enemy combatant, chew on them for a few seconds and in this fashion I was able to tell the time with a high degree of accuracy.
