Is the SH3135 reliable? Isn’t is more expensive to get parts and service than 2836?

Somewhat reliable, not as bad as they used to be. And yes if parts are needed, they will be expensive as it would take gen parts. If you are worried, just stick with the 2824.

Hi,

I am so new to this, and have been reading tons of posts.

Looking for advice - Here's the facts:

1) I'd like to get a Sub Hulk 116610

2) I am not interested in modding in the foreseeable future, UNLESS putting in a gen DW is not too expensive - don't know what this costs...

3) I don't like the date wheel on the new 11610 ARF with the SH 3135 movement that just was released.

4) I don't want to mess with the watch, and I'd like it to have a reliable movement - whether it is gen-correct is not as important to me as reliability.

5) I do want it to look prett-darned-close to a gen, and DO want the updated/best case and bracelet. I have a 7 inch wrist and I want it to fit comfortably.

6) I want to spend no more than 500 - 600 for the whole package.

With all this in mind, would I be better served by getting this:

116610 LV Green Ceramic Noob 1:1 Best Edition 904L SS Case and Bracelet A2836 V9

OR - the LV version of this (not yet available):

116610 LN Black Ceramic ARF 1:1 Best Edition 904L SS Case and Bracelet SH3135

OR - this:

116610 LV Green Ceramic ARF 1:1 Best Edition 904L SS Case and Bracelet A2824

If I am concerned about the movement being reliable, which of the movements are best? SH3135, A2836, or A2824?

Thoughts/comments appreciated.

Thanks!

Get the VRF Max Hulk. Has the best green bezel of the 3. You didn't mention it, but I thought I would bring it to your attention.

If you are not interested in it, then go for the ARF 2824. Out of the box, you can't go wrong. I for one do not care if the lugs are a bit boxy looking, in the real world nobody will care/notice.

I just purchased an LN about 4 hours ago. Patiently waiting for correspondence from pure time. Let the waiting begin.

Thanks! I did check it out on Puretime site, but I like the idea of the 904L material and the newer bracelet and clasp, so I am conversing with them about changing my initial order to the ARF 2824! After reading about issues with the SA3135 movement, I changed my mind.

Is the 2824 movement known to be reliable? Better than the 2836, or are they comparable?

Thanks!

I just got a gen LN and sent my ARF 2824 for some more treatment lolol!! Nevertheless I am tired with all the variations and "new" versions that come out every now and then, they will not make a near perfect Sub but these are perfect for the rest of the people out there (99,999%)... we are doomed to perfection since this is our hobby and a gen only would satisfy me totally (and a TC of course!)

They are Comparable, both reliable.

The ARF is SH3135 not SA

How is the VRF Max Hulk compared to the ARF apart from the bezel?

This may have been answered already, but is this an improvement upon/a better choice than the Noob V9?

The one I initially ordered was a Noob V9 (not an ARF as I wrote) with the SA3135 movement... Once I read about the problems with that movement I cancelled the order...

That's funny... I sort of felt the same way about the "new and improved" version - like the iPhones.... I have to admit all the abbreviations confuse me - what does TC mean?

Thomas Caddell - he used to make the best 5 digit subs, but he decided to go legit.
He still makes fake subs. Kind of. Different dial, hands, crown and clasp these days...
