Thanks Ryan from InTime for hooking me up with this amazing piece.
The rep watch was thinned and serviced by Slaughterer62. The work he does is really professional. You can tell he is passionate about his work. The way the watch sits on the wrist after the thinning makes a big difference.
I’m listing up the key takeaways below. IMO these are really small things. The rep is so well built. It is just insane how close it is to the gen. The bracelet and case finishing are 1:1. This is such a key aspect of the watch, it’s beautiful. The glass is clear. Again, overall a beautiful rep.
Key takeaways:
1. Dial:
- The grey colour of the dial of the rep has a more brown/warm tone compared to the gen, which has a more cool tone.
- Depending on the angle the light the gen is still more vibrant. Maybe it is due to a slight texture difference.
2. DW font is off. There is a significant difference here.
3. Minute markers and “Swiss Made” are more clear on the gen.
4. The screws on top have a more gold colour for the gen and a cleary silver colour for the rep. This was the first thing I noticed when comparing. Again, you can’t see it when you don’t hold them next to each other.
5. The rotor noise of the rep still is noticeable even after the service. If you are planning on buying a rep 15400 get it serviced. It does make a difference.
The pics are professionally taken with an iPhone (sarcasm). Please do let me know what your opinion is.
