Is there a ban on posting here?

I have noticed that in the past several months, there has been a dramatic decrease in posting traffic on this site. It seemed that it was a little better before the "makeover'. I used to come over here to check out the great Member Sales offers and even those have dwindled in the recent weeks. We haven't even gotten to the "slow season" of thread posting, the summertime.

Have we gotten to the point of dilution with regard to our hobbies forums? I know that I post on "The Geek" about 90% of the time, but I have been a member here for quite some time and like to come over here for a break, every now and then. When I do, it seems that unless there is a Dave, Yahoo, Fakemaster, Sub4me pissing contest going on...there is not much else.

Could it be that people are tiring of the hobby or just the forum? This goes for other forums as well, not just this one. RWC is just shy of a joke with regard to content, TRC is, well...its TRC, what more can you say. She is the Grand Dame that started this whole sub-culture for us.

Anybody feel the same way, or is it just me?

I think the Geek gets most of the traffic, but for no other reason than they have the best Forum software over there. I just find it easier to read. But, since some of the guys who made that place so fun (Yahoo and Fakie) are now banned, I like to come over here to hear more "Open" and "Uncensored" discussion.

:p Well, please feel free to post. Really, I think the rep release scene has been quite slow lately.

Emphasize on "super reps" which don't appeal to many people (e.g.: DeWitt, Porsche Design, etc.) and higher price change the landscape of rep forum... As for drama, we keep most of them at looney bin.

Ultimately, there are hoards of blind mice following the piper into RepGeeks, and it takes a while for them to take off the blinders. As more smart people see through their games, they will look elsewhere. Many will land here, as did I.

BTW--I am not banned from there. They have banned a bunch of usernames and IP addresses, but they have not banned me. I'm on Geeks right now!

There still there bro, banned or not....different names, thats all.

Everything has its highs and lows,RG is new and going thru a high like this one did a year ago,the thing with Tim,wars that went on here, then the site constantly going down, the change to the new RWI format has made alot of people give up...it's a cycle and will turn at some point.

D4M and the other admin have been working hard to correct certain downfall's to the forum that weren't there fault, but it isn't easy....I'm at RWG1 all the time and try to steer noobs that show up there over here,if you google a 'gold rolex',RWG1 is the first forum that shows up....lots of noobs...hopefully over time new blood shows up and a cycle comes full circle again.

I applaud the admin here for doing there best with a tough situation, but it is what it is.

Yahoo, you only 'landed here' because they banned you, truely not a good statement as to why someone would be an active RWI member, and while you knock them, you are still there...so stop it.

Frankly, stuff like that is the reason for RWI being what it is today.

I tried and failed to expose their BS. After several attempts, I wore out my welcome with the Watch Mafia over there. If the same BS is found over here, I will treat it the same way. I back down from nobody.

Uh, yeah...I would say so.

For the record, I find it way off base to sport negative info about other forums in your sig, the way you do. Unless you have actual proof that things like that go on at other forums, you should re-think writing things like that. I think it sheds a bad light on the community to new members. I know that you would not want someone to write negative stuff about you in their sigs, right? The admins and mods here should have taken action a long time ago to squash that kind of stuff, but hey...what can you do?

I mean no ill will by saying this to you, I just think it will make for a better experience for everyone.

Proof has been posted in the past, on multiple forums.

1. There is a Cartel (3 dealers ar in it)
2. The Cartel price fixes.
3. The Cartel lies about the movements they put in some of their watches.
4. The Cartel openly supported the founders of Repgeeks when it started, as long as certain dealers were banned.
5. They offered special sales to members of RepGeeks to help increase membership and VIPs there.
6. They posted links to the forum at their websites.
7. They gave free watches to the forum owners.
8. They gave free watches for raffles, to help increase VIP membership.
9. They have scratched the RepGeek back, and RepGeek returns the favor.
10. Just try and report a negative experience with a dealer at RG and see how you are treated.

Search and Ye shall find, my friend. You can start by clicking on the links found in member TeeJay's sig at RWGjr. This will help explain the Cartel, but most of the original posts about RepGeeks getting kick-backs has been erased. If you do not believe me, send me PM and I will tell you who else knows all about it.

Ahem. I must make a few corrections. I get such a bad rap. [smilie=angel13.gif]

First off, I have only been involved in a couple of 'pissing' contests. It may seem like more because I piss SOOO much when they occur. But that's not usually here. You must be confusing your forums. Sometimes it may appear that there is a pissing match but it is simply banter. Dave and I are a perfect example. We do like each other. He's just Canadian. :D

I do like the relaxed censorship. It's a Go**amn paradise. Wait a minute! What the fuck? Oh never mind. 8)

Not to start a 'pissing match' but I do agree with what Dave said. Your statement about the reason you landed here does make it seem like this is just a place to hang your hat until something worthwhile comes along. RG can go screw itself as far as I'm concerned. I was right, I proved it and I will never apologize. I embarrased Sylar so much that his ass puckers up at the mention of my name. They still take shots at me over there. My work is done. [smilie=evil7.gif]. But to keep going back when you hate the place makes absoluteky no sense Yahoo. The only reason I ever joined to begin with was because they kept emailing me and asking me to come over and 'liven up the place'. Take your toothbrush and go home. [smilie=brushteeth.gif]

Let me say something about RWI. This was the second forum I joined (RWG was the first). I was invited here as well by SeanK1 and I have consistently stayed. I love it here. I won't light out as soon as the next forum comes along. Actually I belong to all of them to view links, I just don't post there. RWI is a great place. Of course it's not going to have the same kind of traffic flow. It is not being run like a business. It is a place for the purists to gather and discuss their hobby. that's what it's all about. I will take that over traffic any day.

By the way stevie7s. Wait till tax season is over.

I keep going back to be a thorn in their side. I post and PM them to get them to agree with me, and I laugh my A S S off, because they have no idea that it is me. Then, I let them know it's me, so they realize how stupid they were. When they ban the IP that I joined under, that's just one more IP that cannot access their site. Over the years, there will be many usernames and IPs that are banned from RG. They have to waste time dealing with that, and the fact that their next cool new member might be me. I will LMFAO the day that Sylar vouches for one of my new user names to a noob. I will probably piss myself, then I will let him in on it.

Yeah, wait til after tax season, and that part will be gone.

I agree Stevie7s that it seems slow at this time but Tak has a good point about the recent releases being slow. The other problem I see is the fact that there will not be a lot of new posts but there will be 300 or 400 people online. Post, join a conversation, comment. I have been to all of the forums at one time or another but I like it here and at RWC. I do not like to be negative about specific forums because it seems petty and unnecessary to me. Some I do not care for a lot of the regulars, some are just too much of "aren't we all just so sweet".. One of the sales forums I can hardly stand because you have to wade through 3,4,5 pages of tire kicking and "nice watch, good luck" just to see if the damn thing is still for sale. I like the good natured ribbing from the regulars on this forum. Now since everyone else has chimed in about this here is my 2 cents, Yahoo, I understand how you feel and do not disagree with some of your opinions, not all but some. That said, I just can not believe that you would put so much time and effort into despising and pissing on another forum over such bullshit. I am not saying you can not do this, I just can't imagine giving enough of a shit about these people to do more than leave and not go back.

I agree with the Sweet and cuddly folks at a certain place. I really hate the guys who post on EVERY thread, saying stuff like: That's nice, won't last long, wish I had the funds, that's on my list, stop tempting me! WTF? Buy or don't buy, or at least add something to the thread!

For now, screwing with them is fun. That is why I do this, for fun. When it gets tired and not fun, I will quit.

Well like I said, it's just me. I just don't ever let people I do not care about on some level, such as friends, matter in my life enough to give the average jerkoff more than a nanoseconds concern. But hey, if you are having a good time go for it. The only thing I keep in mind, and this is for me personally, I have people at all the forums who frequent there that I like and respect and would not want to alienate because of the fact that I am not thrilled with a place they happen to enjoy.

No matter how much you like them, you'll step back when the pool of their blood edges up too close. Do not get in my way when I'm slaughtering Spartans!

But then we would be guilty of the title of this thread "Is there a ban on posting here". There was too much censorship here in the beginning, I did not agree with it. There is a line that eventually gets drawn in the sand, sometimes because of beating something to death or threats being made but everyone is free to express their opinion.. always has been that way..

What you will not find here is Never ending threads... word games.. and many other non watch related things... (always an exception) but my point being... when there is serious watch conversation to be had.. it is done and done by very experienced people. RG is a very noob friendly place (RWI is too) but you find a much more mature conversation taking place here (except for sub4me & yahoo's looney bin).

If constant posting about "stuff" is what someone wants, we can generate new threads every minute... but I dont think anyone is really looking for it.

Our sales section has always been 3 pages long.. still is today... has been that way for almost 2 years... nothing has changed.
A reduced amount of biased dealer BS being shoved up our arse... that is not found as much.. (Thank God)

Maybe I should PM everyone on other forums and offer free vip memberships... maybe posting about stuff will pick up?? who knows.. ?

D4M, when I refered to pages and pages of posts in the sales section, I was not refering to how many listings we have. I was refering to another site where each listing is pages and pages. Sorry if I was unclear.

+1 for no censorship, no never-ending threads of non-sense, and no recruiting of new players with free VIP! Amen, brother.
