this is not a sash nor josh nor ruby nor silix. If it were, it would not have this rehaut thickness and the rehaut would be very conical:

sash's, very thin rehaut:

looks to be a Sash Sub do to the style of rehaut.

Do you know yet if it's ETA?

I have not opened the case yet....but I'll let you guys know. I've got a few mods planned with the help of bklm1234.....

The sub did not come from Sash originally......

BTW, sorry for the BAD pictures....LOL....I took them very quickly and didn't use my make shift lightbox.

Bert, you are the MAN... as your knowledge (as OCD as it is  ) keeps us in the light!

Frogman, you are the MAN... as you got this kickass deal!

Let us know when/if you find out who the dealer is.

Dukie, you son of a gun. You got that same watch as Frogman's. Obviously Sash used to carry that stock. Did you sell it? Why? A few mods turn it second only to the mbw. How much did you pay for it? Don't tell me it's $50 again.

Loving Bert for his encyclopedic (and mildly scary) knowledge of all things Rolex.

Hating Frogman for picking this up for $50.

Is it wrong of me to hope that when Frogman opens up the back, he'll see a brand spankin' new Casio quartz battery?

this is an interesting sub. it's neither a noobmariner nor a josh nor a vipmariner. it a really good looking sub with a not so conical rehaut unlike the joshs. Can't see the rehaut deep but I bet you it's very deep. The rehaut is almost as thick as the noobmariner's or gen's. The dial is good looking with one flaw. The minute markers don't touch the rehaut => good, and they are not too long, just like the noobmariner's minute markers. The m's lined up too. The flaw is the date window which is too tall and too far to the right along with the cyclop. The cyclop has too much magnification. The CGs are very nicely shaped. You won't need to improve them. The best part is the bezel. Although thin (bottom portion is very thin unlike the gen's or mbw's), it has well defined long bezel teeth.

This sub has the potential to be near perfect like a tw best or mbw. Change to a noob dial, a noob datewheel overlay, a correct cyclop, a watchmaterial insert pearl, and a mbw or gen crown (optional, this crown is marginally ok, correct width but teeth no sharp). Ask your friend where he got it. I'm curious.

If he would have just added.... "Or I could be wrong"

Your a f*cking machine dude! ~ LMAO!

This is a very interesting thread. I only just recently heard of this infamous "rehaut"...and I thought the important thing was the DEPTH of it I had not even noticed the THICKNESS!!! OMG, why did I stumble onto these forums?? I might have to throw away all my sub reps now that I SEE all these flaws...to think I was happy with my Paul (so called perfect sub)....I am not "sub"ocd, I am not "sub"ocd...ah crap, guess I am :)

No I did not sell that sub I never tied to either it's my Favorite Sub not sure why but the feel of this one has always been my favorite.

I am selling another watch, and at the time I had the camera already set up so I just set the Sub on there and turned the light to get the rehaut to show up.

It's also totally mod free the only thing I've ever had done to it is had the movement serviced and silicon applied to the seals.

I wanted to wait on this bad boy and do the mods the right way the first time. So I've experimented will allot of other ones first.

It's ETA-2836-2 "of course" and I had it tested on that beat machine the AD uses I have a buddie that works at a local AD. they don't sell rollies but the work

on them often and he said this sub ran smoother and kept better time then even the brand new rollies he tests.

I have a photo on my phone of the "state of the art" timegraphers he used to test it. basicly he said it runs perfect no matter which way he tilts the watch.

I was extremely please to hear that about a watch that I payed $200 for.

Bklm how thick should the rehaut be?

thanks for the info too!

If you want to see more pix I did a review a while back at TRC and posted some of the stuff here.

Yeah. I remember reading that. I scratched my head at the time. Sash's current offering doesn't look like that. I already wondered if Sash changed his stock. Now I know.

It's just a gorgeous piece without the mbw price tag.
Next time when my coworker wears his gen, I'll measure the rehaut thickness. It's probably between 1mm and 2mm.

@Frogman, yeah the pearl needs some work. and the bezel needs to be milled down a bit.

and if yours has ETA your friend needs to be slapped cause thats one hell of a deal. how well has it been keeping time?

@bklm, Thanks for the info I'm really eager to know the width.

I was actually on the assumption that thickness wasn't supposed to be there on a gen.

I'll have to hunt some more gen photo's down. when the day comes I'd like to mod it to an older style anyways :)
