New TC Sub bezel problems

I got my TC Sub today and while I was still extremly flashed with the looks and feel there came a big shock.
The bezel doesn't move ... I tried to move it with a bit more force and managed to budge it a few mm but boy ... this was hard.
I already wrote TC an email describing the problem ... while I'm waiting for his reply, does anyone had a similar problem?
Is it fixable easily or am I screwed? Any suggestions?

EDIT: due to popular demand: yes, I am turning it counter clockwise. ;)

EDIT2: It's note the spring. It's that there is no play between the bezel nad the crown. While trying to remove the bezel, it was so tightly fitted around the creown, the whole damn crown came off.

are you turning it clock wise or counter clock wise?

Here is your problem: The click spring wire is off it's track. It is sandwiched between the friction disk and the bezel itself.

Here is your solution: Pry it off carefully, re-position the spring an reset the bezel. Profit!

Pry it off ... like how?? You mean remove the whole bezel? On my brand new TC? I am afraid to do that :(

Masking tape, butter knife, some beer and some meditation. :) Or send it back. Up to you.

Not working .... I have by now seen some vids on rolex bezel removal.. The bezel on a gen rolex easily "pops" off when you apply some pressure with a wooden or plastic object.
I tried it with an old credit card. Now way. The bezel fits so tightly it wount even budge :(
I am quite disappointed, since this should be SO easy to spot and correct by TC ... man I'm mad right now ... The best tip today was the beer and meditation ... Just had a deep gulp of my Tatratea ..

OK I did it!

Now ... where should the spring be ? under the ring the bezel insert is lying upon or between that and the bezel insert?

OK I did all the bezel reassembly steps ... According to rolex formus the spring goes over the washer. Well the fit of my bezel is so tight, after the reassembly the bezel still doesnt turn.
Extremly disappointed. With all the praise TC is getting and his own claim for perfection, I'm seriously asking myself, how a glaringly obvious failure like this, can pass by him ...
Now off to writing him an email how to return the watch and get my money back.
BTW. I still don't know what the problem really is. My best guess is that the bezel has no tolerance to the crystal.

I feel your frustration, man, but maybe you should just step away from the keyboard and take another deep gulp of your tatratea. Just wait for his response to your first email. Hey, I may even throw in a reefer if you're game. [emoji6][emoji1]

:drinks:

I did that. Now I do not smoke but I went for a walk with my dog. Some fresh night air and the alcohol cooled me off some ... That was necessary after that happened:

The bezel is so tightly fixed to the retention ring, the damn retention ring went off without releasing the bezel. WTF?

I hope you get that fixed. Don't sell it or send it back. I know it's frustrating but I'm sure when you figure that out, you'll love the watch. My best to you.

That happened to me when I was modifying my old Euromariner/MBW. The crystal retention ring is either too big or the bezel is too small- take your pick! I'd have to take the crystal press to separate the retention ring and the bezel. Try sanding down the outside edge of the crystal retention ring- but not too much and then reassemble- first the retention ring w/ the gasket underneath, flat washer next and finally the click spring and then press on the bezel. If it still doesn't turn, repeat the above steps until it does. You can also sand the inside edge of the bezel a little, but it needs to snap over the crystal retention ring, so not too much, or at least try to keep the edge to the bezel. Hope this helps!

Thanx for your kind words. But the reality is, that thing is not fixable.
I spent the last four hours on disassembling the whole bezel into single parts and putting them together one by one to see which ones cause the problems.
Only when I remove the bezel insert and the "washer" (thats the thing between the bezel and the insert ) the bezel "rim" starts to move somewhat smoothly around the retention ring. The spring doesn't affect the movement. It just prevents the clockwise turning. It was not causing the problems.
When I reassemle the washer and insert, the thing has no more play and stops turning almost completely. Fixing it around the crystal is almost impossible and then the bezel stops moving at all.

So this is it. The watch needs a whole new bezel. The problem is, the clasp is also very bad. It is very loose on the clasp ends and extremly tight between the two clasp links. The moment anyone would hold it in their hands it would be instantly called out.
For a watch that costs way over 500 EUR I expected much much, more.

I will ask TC for a refund. I did scratch the bezel while doing my tinkering so this might be a problem but I would be OK with him subtracting some $ for this of the return fee. I just don't want that damn watch anymore.
I guess I'm off to gens. They are not out of my financial reach so I'll probably just spare myself the hassle and start saving for a gen Aqua Terra. There is a sale at my local dealer in two days ... I have an eye on a class Longine on a leather strap. Maybe I'll get this one first.

Thx for the tips. But I have to correct myself. I removed the whole retention ring and outside the crystal it still doesn't move. The problem is the whole assembly retention ring and bezel+washer.
I'm not a watchsmith so I'm out of options here.
I just did not expect such a big problem with a brand new TC ... I wrote him asking if he will take the watch back. He has a no return policy so I guess I'm stuck with a non functioning watch.

Any idea how much I can get for the watch without the bezel? I'm definitely getting rid of it after this fiasco. Do you think I can sell it for a good price?

Man I was so excited ... now I'm not even mad, I'm only sad :(

I feel bad for you mate... My TC is almost on the way and each of the last 2/3 most recent reviews talk about issues/flaws on the bezel ring... tbh You got the worst but this really scares me a lot...
