and generally having the engravings, even if a bit flimsy is quite nice, opposite to not having them
The V3 was one of a kind, probably a broken machine produced them- than they "fixed" it

Yes my plan was to find a good rep and franken it starting with bezel and so on. But the case, to me, is the most important part as the starting point otherwise I can't see the point in building on top of that.
I also acknowledge we're looking at these reps at hi-res macro shots and the human eye won't pick up on the details as easily but having not seen any rep in person it's all I have to go on.
I like this thread, really. Tells noob like me some of the major diff between the few good sub versions (v3, v5 and Tc). I am tempted to think the v3 is really the better one for its price but the killer blow is really the white paint on the bezel insert.... and that is soooooo HUGE that I can't really ignore.
I think you've got a good mindset. Sure the V3 case set is sweet, but you'll probably need to do an Anita's paint mod (Smoke has all the Anita's platinum left in this world) as well as a Vac pearl. Someone mentioned the dial is wrong too, going to need to fix that.
Quite a hefty list of premiums to have a ceramic with better engravings.

Yeah everybody talks about the Noob V3 Sub case, legendary stuff, but that case won't take a Yuki3135 so if your plan is to build a tell-proof franken rep be prepared to spend lots of money ($2500-$3000 - gen is $4000) for heavy mods like soldering-retapping etc. Or else forget about the engraved rehaut, and buy a TC Sub V6 with a gen insert. Not every gen sub has engraved rehaut so don't worry about it. I used to worry about it too much like you did but not anymore.
Why? no super franken rep can have inverted time/date setting like an ETA does, it needs either a yuki3135 or a R3135 or its an instant tell to anybody handling the crown, no matter how good, no matter if every other part is genuine. If you're gonna expend $2500 - $3000 on a super franken rep you better do it for love / fun or else save $1000 more and buy the genuine, or third option, enjoy your rep for what it is ! =D Buy a good rep like a TC Sub V6 or a BK Noob V5 (116610) and enjoy them, save money and explore other nice reps like Pams, Tag Heuers or cartier Santos.

Theres a super franken ceramic sub 116610 for sale, with pretty much everything gen, based on a noob V3 case, unfortunately, for $2500 USD it STILL has the misaligned rehaut! by half a minute or so CW. So go figure...

Most people have no idea how a gen 3135 hand move clockwise with the crown.and most people don't know the eta hands turn anticlockwise. When turning the crown clockwise. So it's a mute point.but yes 2016 subs have the non engraved rehaut now like the noob subs.but I still only like the deep engravings of the past.when I buy a gen hulk I'll will not buy one with the noob style printed rehaut I will look for a minty used or old new stock unworn with the deep double outlined rehaut as it just looks so much nicer

I meant the 16610 not the 116610, I mixed both on the same paragraph because I was trying to convey to the OP that the best 16610 (TC sub v6) and the best 116610 (Noob V3 case + mods) are as close as he's gonna get and he gets anal about it he may approach 16610 cost by a very steep margin, so he should enjoy the reps for what they are or will end up with an unsellable franken super rep.
I can vouch for this, I just bought a superfranken V3 for 2200 pounds, there is a big price difference between this and what you'l pay for gen. This is the best thing possible to get without going gen
