Just received my JF 15400 black dial- the swiss made text is noticeably weaker than the gen- i didn't pick it up in the QC pics because of resolution. the E in particular is noticeable. but hey- the first iphone wasn't perfect either.

The pattern bothers me more than the color. I'ts probably quite difficult to get the same color AND shine, but in all seriousness, how could they f#ck up the pattern this bad? This is clearly not a case of "cannot", but a case of "don't". Lazy pricks...

Where I need to be.
What gets me is that in another post a member describes how he's been in negotiation with a TD to get a perfect FC Diver and between them have gone through multiple pieces in the quest for perfection. I've spent a lot of money with this TD so I expected better. But to be honest the Chinese TD's don't really give a shit about Lao Wei's (foreigners), they pretend to but really just want the money.

Its "Lao Wai" not "Lao Wei". Lol.
But seriously M, its disheartening to read your review on the JF 15400. I believe that what you have written holds water, and it has put me off ordering the same watch.

Lol, my missus would kill me for spelling it wrong!!

I've done some work on mine since, sorted the screws out (thanks TF), fixed the crooked AP logo, fixed the crooked 11 o'clock marker and gave the bracelet an oil bath. So now the clasp clips and unclips like an expensive clasp, the links flow smoothly and I'm actually beginning to get used to the dial. In fact the dial actually looks expensive despite its flaws and I really don't think anyone would actually notice the smaller tapisserie unless you had a gen next to it.

I am still confused as to how they are able to produce such high levels of rep in one version and yet completely screw up another.
Laziness is simply not good enough, there must be someone that makes decisions before going ahead with mass production, surely?!
Especially for such a long awaited model.

You just get used to it. Nothing's changed in the 10 years I've been into reps. There's always something that you'd think would be easy to sort out in the design stage, but that's not how the Chinese do things! It's not so much laziness as its good enough so why do any more. Upgraded models over time are a clever business model in a way since the ones that bought the previous version will likely buy the next one so they double their sales!!

A lot of rep buyers get them to for their own enjoyment, so whether somebody else notices the wrong dial pattern is immaterial if you yourself know it's wrong.

It just stands out too much, especially because it contrasts the thicker than gen hour markers. People endlessly agonize about half a mm case thickness difference or crappy movement decoration but those can rarely be seen as opposed to something as prominent as dial, the blasted thing is in your face every time you look at the watch :)

That's a gen in the video.
I know buddy, but in that video it's pretty damn close to the JF shown in pics. Reason why I'm waiting Angus to post the JF video.
I had the chance to see one time the Gen in boutique, and I didn't remember the color was 'light' as some members claimed here...

Puretime video should be helpful even though most of the time they shoot with a very harsh indoor lighting that accentuates contrast and makes true colour perception difficult.

The gen is very dark, not as dark as the 15202 but still much darker than the electric blue of the JF version and hardly reflective at all. But the blue colour is just one of the wildly apparent inaccuracies, and even if it were correct the tapisserie pattern and thick hour markers still jump out even at a casual glance.

The blue looks terrible in Ryan's pictures, it's such a loud shade of blue
