Hello

I wanted to know if it is possible to make or get a golden replica not gold plated but real gold??? And if I want to start a Frankenstein project how and where can I fine measurement of the movement inside of a replica. For example rolex milgauss rep ----> yuki3135 movement does it fit or. What can I do to let it fit with a sleight adjustment?

Just for reference, and because its interesting, here's an article on just how much actual gold is in a gen gold Rolex -- http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-Much-Gold-Is-Really-In-A-Rolex-Watch-/10000000001632748/g.html

Now in all fairness the price of gold has nearly tripled (for basically no reason, though that's beside the point), but the point is that if you could mold the cash and caseback, you could make it from real gold for a fraction of the gen...

that can be done but how much are you willing to pay for it? Real gold cost real money.

I think only the gold could cost About $2000/4000 i know gold is expensive but a golden Rolex or audemars piquet is nearly 20000 40000 so i think it is cheaper

In Euro by todays quotation: 168*31,81=€ 5.344 if it´s pure gold (24kt) but normally the watch is 18kt so it´s 75% gold.

If You would go and buy gold at gr. cost or a 100 gr Nugget to melt it would be more expensive on the street. The big chunk is for the bracelet so for the watch-head itself You´d probably be fine with much less, a caseback weighs about 7,5 gr and a bezelring about 5,5 (datejust).

For swapping in a Yuki3135 You go best with buying a rep that has a 3135 in the first place (size-fit/crown-fit/dial and hands fit) and that will take gen parts. Look in TD´s detailed descriptions like this one: http://www.intime.co/rollie/1857-da...dial-roman-markers-on-ss-bracelet-sa3135.html and than compare with others that do not have the description. One major complication if the caseset is not perfect for the movement is the stem height/ location of the tube. You will want either a direct swap or replicate a model somebody else has already done the exact same way so You know it fits. Depending what You choose this will be an expensive fun:)

I didn't say you have to buy a small movement, it's just most likely the movement you put in your case won't fit 1:1. Incase it's smaller you need to have a movement ring to cope the remaining area.
If it's to big you can't use it ;)

Mate, you wouldn't process pure gold for your watch.

A gen 18 carat gold watch consits of 18 parts gold and 6 parts of a different metal (e.g. that is how Rose gold is made - it's an alloy of gold with copper and silver).

So 18k means three fourth of the alloy is gold, one fourth is copper, silver, palladium, nickel...

Three fourth, that's why it is also called "750" (of 1000) - meaning 75% gold, 25% of another metal.

Gold is worth too much to risk someone making it into a piece only to find out that it doesn't fit and/or that it isn't a good quality copy.
