Well i got the clasp in from Helenarou........but the sent me the wrong one
They sent an unsigned unit.
They just sent me an email and said they will send the proper one out tomorrow.

Bummer. I also had difficulties building my Franken, but the final project was so worth it. I have a thread about it if you wanna read about Moores Law in action haha

Haha just read your reply. I think its weird that we don't notifications for the threads we start unless we subscribe to them.
And yes I meant Murphy's Law... The exponential increase in technological development has nothing to do with this...

Haha. I've always liked the yachtmaster, but I think it would be trashed very quickly in my house with all that polished steel. I do like them though.

Well i got my milled style GMT Master II clasp in from Helenarou on Monday.
BIG improvement from the Rafflestimes clasp !
This one looks stupendous !
I polished all the sharp edges and put it on the bracelet but i couldnt get it centered where i liked it so i felt i needed a halflink.
BUT......I couldnt locate one anywhere.........so i made one myself.
And it came out perfect !
You can see my halflink just to the left of the clasp there in the picture
The step between the bracelet link and the halflink is because i had to remove one of the bracelets permanant links to get it to size properly so it lost some of its taper.
The weight of the new clasp gives the watch a more substantial feel
Im really liking it !
Then on Friday, i get a email from TC asking me if im still looking for a YM bracelet, as he just picked up a few of them.
I wish i had known he was going to do that, as that was the look i was trying to get initially.
But im very pleased with the way this come out !

Its not that i couldnt get it to fit the diameter of my wrist, but having a very skinny wrist, with the end of the clasp (the end with the rolex emblem on it) sat at middle of my wrist (with the bracelet all stock and all removable links removed) and the other end stuck out past my wrist. So i had to shorten that end up.
Now with the one perm link removed and no halflink, the clasp rode up too high on the inside.
With the half link, the clasp sits prefectly centered
The micro adjustment makes the other end of the bracelet longer of shorter, not what I was trying to achieve..
Not the same bracelet here but you can kinda see what im talking about....

Threads like this give me such motivation. You guys are real masters and I admire your attention to detail. I'm OCD and with my cars, house and motorcycles I try to keep them in top shape both mechanically and in a appearance. as an example if a plumber or electrician works on my house I insist they leave no debris behind under the house or in the attic same thing at the car dealers if I have to have a mechanic do something I cant do I lift the hood in the service drive and call em out on anything out of place. They hate me. the independent shops love me cause I make friends easily and bring them beer! They make very few mistakes but sometimes with all these computers I have to go to the dealership
