Does anybody have any experience with this Miyota 9015 version of the 15400 that Toro currently has on special? How is the quality of the gold plating? Any obvious flaws I may be missing? Seems like a great price for a watch with a 9015 under the hood.

Good question - from what I understand the ones with the Miyota are all of the same quality...I don't hear ppl refer to the factories that produce them.

Anyone more familiar with them can confirm?

After reading through the 15400 rep vs gen comparison sticky, does sound like different factories make these. The ones on Toro's site look like the bezel screws aren't as sunk as the ones in the sticky.

At these price I say just go ahead. The better version is more than $100 more!

This does not seems like the regular miyota that we've been seeing all the time. Seems like a lower quality one to me.

From experience, what I have found with reps which were sold as a special, discontinued or sale, is that whilst they look great, I am a firm believer that they are assembled from scraps from the parts piles, and even bodged in some instances. This is what I have found with customers watches. Stem extensions superglued into the crown, to refinished, patched dials/indice.

I agree, it does seem to be a lower quality one. Especially the white one, the dial colour is quite off from the gen

I bought the white one from Toro, for 208$. I think its very good value for the money:

It might be good value but it screams rep to me. Just giving it one quick look and I see that awful datewheel, the wrong hour markers and even the wrong hands.. The dial print is too thin and the bezel screws don't help either..

In my opinion, on this particular model it's worth it to splurge for the best version.

Seems very reasonable for the money. Especially how they have the two toned version so fast. I have the more expensive engraved Miyota myself.

Ordered yesterday the 'special cheap MIYOTA' :
http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_49&product_id=1386

and I have to say I already feel like I made the wrong choice.
Hopefully the guys from 'torobravo' will be willing to replace it for the $438 version after an additional payment from my side.

I know the answer is relative, but how bad the 'cheap MIYOTA' is compared to the $438 one from the V5 factory?
Also is the most expensive 15400 rep the closest to the gen?
