Guys,

Need to buy a mate a new 15400. He has a budget of $250 so I'm thinking of getting him the "Lite" version. Is there a dot point summary of the differences between the "Lite" and non Lite versions?

From my searches I can only find 2.

1) Rotor engraving is better on the non lite version
2) Datewheel font is different.

Anything else?

Cheers

You won't get anything else but the lite version with this budget, so I don't see a reason comparing it with the Miyota.
But if you want to know the specs of the Miyota version, you'll find some great reviews with the search-function.

Lite Miyota 15400

- Tapisserie pattern slightly inaccurate and too shallow
- Date window is rectangular instead of square
- 'AP' logo is missing the laser-etched white line inbetween the two letters
- My main gripe with it is to do with the markers, they are just too rounded and lack that '3D' looking shape of the gen and ZF and BP version
- Date font
- Rotor engraving

It might not be a super rep but it's still a great looking watch. I love it.

^ Thanks Zero for that comprehensive list.

Just wondering if you held it side by side with the non lite model - the metal and feel/weight would be identical?

I think that's correct. Metal and weight would be 99% the same

Could try the 15300s. A little smaller than the 400s but might serve your purpose well.

I got the lite version from Sead last week, I'm really digging it:

This is my first AP rep and the quality is a lot higher than similarly priced Rolex reps IMHO.

Sorry for the Newbie question, where do you get this from? I am also interested in this! Do you have a link?
Thanks,
Ck

From which TD did you get the rg 15300 from? I tried to find one from toro and couldn't find one...
You can try the other TDs and email them the specific watch u want and they can source it for you. I got it last year from a TD over at rwg

I have this one from Toro, for 208$. The date wheel /window could be better, but other than that
it's a really nice rep for the money. If you need the best rep. version, pay 200$ more. simple as that.
