I was wearing my BP Exp 2 with a rebuilt swiss movement as stated by lucy today while cutting the grass. It was working when I started but now its dead. crown moves everything around fine and it feels the same in the crown when winding etc. Does anyone know of anyone in California first and USA second who might fix this. I'm in long Beach and know I could probably go downtown Los Angeles to the Jewelry district and maybe find someone.. But it would be nice to find someone local , I heard PBdad but I cant find his info to PM.

Any Ideas, Thanks in advance

I had seiko that had the same problem. I was shooting guns with that on and didn't think about nothing and it quit working.

I dropped it off at a local shop that said they work on reps all the time and will be fair about what they can do..I'll give them a chance.

Local shop wanted 125 for cleaning rebuild and maybe parts.. I said no and Ended up taking it to David in Orange county he is within 25 miles and was recommended on forum plus I met a member down there who wishes to remain anonymous. Very happy I have a feeling this will turn out good. Now I just need a leather strap for it :)

That's good news Thrasher ! All the watchsmiths in my area, north of you, no longer want to touch any rep. Not even clean and service them. They don't want to risk breaking a part that is not available from all these new Chinese made movements. They will however, if you bring them just the movement , [Swiss ETA's only] work on them. They have had their share of bad 2813's of different makers and 7750 time bombs. Cant blame them. .......Please update us on the progress on your watch......... best regards.

Just as an update I took it to David in the Laguna area of orange county California, He called me today to let me know it needs a rebuild and cleaning and oil full service. Now remember my local guy who says he was working on a lot of Reps wanted $125 and made no guarantees that in the end it would even work. David said $60 it will work and as long as I screw the crown down will probably be water tight for swimming. David is an older gentleman who seems like he's been down the road and around the block a few times he was recommended by someone on RWI or RWG. I can pass on his information only to VIP members who live in Southern California.

According to David its an very old rebuilt swiss movement and was very dirty and gummy, When its done maybe he will have more detail. Lucy told me it was rebuilt swiss BP fac so I knew what I was getting plus I think it was only $260. I'm having Eric (Donerix, Hamilton) down in Nicaragua make a Croc strap for it.

When you get it back, it'll be better than new, PLUS you found a fair watchsmith! It's sunny in California again!
