Personal experience.

Having stayed in china for a number of years becos of my business there, I would have to say that domestic shipping within china is simply superb.

Packages arrive timely and postal service is amazingly fast. Ppl who shop online in china will know what I'm talking abt.

For international shipping, I've so far never lost an item before. Not watches in my parcels but shipment of documents, food stuff etc.

Tracking service online sucks that's true but have never lost a package.

They do take pride in their work and ESPECIALLY when receiver is NON CHINA nationality, all the more they're careful and responsive. With addresses all correct, I cannot imagine a package not being received by the receiver.

China maybe messy in many ways yet in many aspects they're more advanced and responsible in their method of doing things, even better in many areas as compared to Singapore.

Eg. I have a registered article arriving, the postman delivering the package will actually call me(provided number is written on package) to let me know what time he's coming over. In SG, that'll never frigging happen even when your number is clearly stated.

Postman leaving packages on a shoe rack without being authorized? In china he will lose his job overnight and that could be the lightest punishment.

EVERYTHING IN CHINA can be tracked or dug out, thanks to the culture of having connections/bribery/brotherhood.

It's just whether one wants to do it or not. A system I very much embrace.

All I will say is that you have had a very different experience. How many years have you been here?

My experiment, the one I mentioned, was done in Xinyang, Henan. However, I will admit that I had almost no incoming mail lost in that city. Partly because the Uni I was at was well known, and it had a central office assigned to handling all incoming mail that was in English (part of the Uni, not the postal system).

The current city, Taizhou, Jinagsu, was a different story. When I first came to this city I got no mail. After going and introducing myself at the post office I now get my mail and the mail of any foreigner they cant find. As far as tracking numbers, currior tracking numbers work; but postal tracking numbers are not logged in China. As I said, you have had a very different experience.

I too just dealt with an issue along the same lines Daz. I was told by the TD that my watch was the new clone 3187, when in fact it was not. I recieved a decorated movement with the numbers 3187 on it, and also found out that the new clone 3187 isn't even out yet and won't be until about June. I do believe that it's not my dealers fault as this is what he was told by the factory, but he should have assumed some responsibility I think. Mine was different from yours as it ran great, so I just sold it the other day and decided to wait on the new clone to come out in June. The other issue is the communication gap. The TD I use still doesn't understand what I was saying to him when I told him that the movement was not the one he told me it was. So I gave up and just sold it. Hopefully he's not still selling it as that movement, but who knows since he didn't understand me. I don't know what there is to do about this with the TD's selling something that isn't what it is advertised to be, but I've seen it with that crappy 21j movement, and now with the one I bought.

The fact that John at Lioncitywatches sent the wrong movement which was DOA and wont offer any compromise or resolution for a missing parcel to be returned to him because of his initial mistake is a joke.

If he sent me the correct watch be it DOA or not I wouldnt of had to even think about sending it back and waiting months.

Dealers like John who side step any responsibility are the main reasons for people filing paypal disputes!

I agree with daz here, the seller needs to take full responsibility on this sale. I don't give a shit what the factories have been doing in the past. daz confirmed with the seller about the movement, seller reassured daz the movement was what he wanted and was paying for, and seller should know what he's selling.

this would be the ideal situation if dealers knew everything about the hobby. Unfortunately most dealers do not start as hobbyists and then move into the TD position. They usually don't follow and keep up with whats going on other than the info that they're fed from the factories. As much as we can wish that dealers actually know everything they sell, the truth is that they don't.

I thought dealers were supposed to know what they're selling. If not, then they must be the equivalent of some of those clueless Best Buy employees?

Also anyone considering buying from Timewilltell should also know now that he has blocked me via whatsapp (his main form of communication) without any effort to sort this issue out.

I have filed a helpdesk ticket and awaiting a mod to step in.

daz, we can all see who can't be relied on. You have been beyond fair and patient with this shit. F him.
i ever sweared at you before? what is fair in your opinion sub4me?? refund buyer with no return of merchandise???

To be honest I'm just fed up with the excuses, I've been shafted in getting the wrong watch and having to send the watch back at my cost, and to now have to deal with a lack of communication and no compromise. Having read what others have said I hope the return address he gave me was even a real one.

This thread like my previous one shows the attitude of Timewilltell and his business moto, customer satisfaction and support is something to be desired.

Not out to ruin someones reputation but is it really too much to ask for a reply to "what do we do if the watch never arrives?"
you are one that is not easily satisfied and you refused to accept the FACT that there ISN'T a breitling SOSF with a "real" A2836 movement that is under 200 dollars. Who provided me the web link for the watch? you daz! Were you not presented the QC photos prior to shipping? NO! i believed i have even provided you several movement photos for your examination. Oh i forgot you a modder, not a watchmaker! My bad!!

ok incorrect movement no problem, ship me back the watch forget about the movement swap. Not to ruin someone's reputation?? so why this threads daz??

Timewilltell....

Your response?
you liked to push ppl around don't you? after you had insisted i have to check with my postal office multiple times, and i block you on whatsapp now you posted on my section and "direct" me here..

the fact? i'll remind you what the fact is daz! i didn't offer any compromise or resolution?? did i not said i would refund you upon receiving the watch in your other thread???

hasn't a moderator is on this case? you seems like you are handling this by yourself by starting thread after thread. I block you on the 4th of April, after reading your message to me that you have contacted a mod. I replied you, "why you telling me this? You have done that, and started multiple threads about this breitling."

Tell me which TD webpage there's a Breitling SOSf with a "real" A2836 movement under 200 dollar i will ship it to you. Or ask the moderator on this case if i should refund you now, if he say yes i make the refund. I have not receive the return shipment as of today.

No you haven't and I haven't directly sweared at you either (maybe it depends on how you read my post) but I don't care about that because it's nonsense.

What is fair?? Since you asked, you should refund daz in full, you screwed up and had it not been for your mistake none of this would have happened. You need to take responsibility for what you sell. If you don't know what movement is in the watches your selling then that's your fault. First rule of doing business is know your product. Refund daz and you take the loss that's the cost of doing good business.

Well I think judging by the tone of Johns replies his business moto is somewhat inflexible.

Let me see:

You keep saying I asked for a watch with 2836 for $200 which is impossible, you were the very guy who repeatedly told me the movement inside the watch was a 2836 and the price was $200 not me.

You sent the wrong watch which may I add was badly wrapped and arrived DOA, dead, kaput! I had no choice but to send this back to you (no one I know will even touch the piece of c**p movement inside that watch you sent me). I sent it back because of your mistake, it is lost (maybe because the address you supplied wasnt real? Who knows) and now I am out $200 plus shipping because of your initial mistake.

Blocking me from your main form of communication is childish and wont resolve anything and if this is the way you stand by your business I'm sure I wont be the last person to post my concerns. I believe the mods are working on this issue and to be honest it is more about your attitude and how you address problems that others should know about.

so in your opinion it's fair i should refund to buyer when nothing came thru my end? tell us all here, since when seller should refund to buyer when return shipment has not reach seller? So seller should bear all...? So it's fair in your opinion, me as a reseller to bear the loss of the shipment, and had to refund to buyer??

200?? no postage to UK? no fees for pp?? wrong watch??? you didn't see no photos of the watch?? oh now you avoiding the questions i asked? who provided me the web link of the watch? who told me to ship the watch?? you!!! Is it me that not know of this watch or you don't know about this watch???

main form of communication? you don't know i have an email???? blocking you on whatsapp i would live another day. You believed the mods are working on it, so why this threads here and RWG?

My attitude depends how you had posted about me here and RWG. Funnily after you started the threads about the breitling, you asked me if i would sell you a black bay. Seriously daz, you think i would still accept your order again??

Look, stop trying to defend a position where your in the wrong. You sent a watch with the wrong movement, you don't know the product your selling, you did Not provide your buyer with a immediate fix but instead waited until he posted about the problem here (it's not like this happened last month), you've moved very slowly throughout the entire process here. Then finally you agreed to accept the watch back after much argument with your buyer, the buyer shipped it by reliable method back to you (have you checked your shoe rack?? LMFAO), but of course you know nothing about it and offer no fix for the problem except to complain.

Now about the question you asked me. On more then one occasion I've had a seller send me a replacement watch (for their mistake) before I even shipped the wrong watch back to them and in other cases I've had a dealer apologize for sending the wrong watch, tell me to just keep it, and they have then sent me a replacement all at no charge. These are things you do when you make a mistake on your end, you fix the problem at your costs, you do Not blame your buyer.

Who is the dealer-you. Who told me what movement was in it-you. You didnt know what you were selling but somehow that is my fault, the crappy movement was dead when it arrived is that my fault too?

You think avoiding questions by blocking people is the right way to do business? Ive answered all your questions in my previous thread where you denied all responsibility for what you sell.

Also to note I never asked you to bare the whole cost. If you read back I proposed a fair solution of splitting the cost of YOUR mistake.

Enough of the excuses and the name calling and attitude. I proposed a mutual solution - you blocked me because you didn't want to even meet half way for your mistake.

End of the day if you had sent me a 2836 like you said was in it and it arrived working we wouldnt be in this situation.

There goes the question of when is it part and parcel of the biz for a TD to be responsible and when does it becomes a buyer's problem as part of the hobby.

Oh well guess I have the answer depending who's in or out.

356sgd is not gonna make me lose ANY sleep so relax.

But 356sgd can do wonders in China.

Enuff said, hope Daz gets his issue resolved.

Wow 356 is rather lots of money where he can spend on women and food in china. I can send u screenshots of him telling me he's feasting at a restaurant where he just ordered a huge fish cos it's so dirt cheap, at the time when I was whatsapping him that the watch is missing.

Village, of course
hmmm...ironically, we do know of one who is currently not only losing sleep, hair and his girly panties over a similiar sum of money and has been despicable enough to do cowardly stuff behind the scene even when mods are already involved.

I think this should be the solution. split the losses and move on.
