This is my first post, and I have a few rep's bought a few years ago, some were crap, and others were excellent. So after joining this forum, I did my due diligence with regards to RWI 's section on 'TD'.I reviewed the post and decided to purchase a UN from Angus at Pure Time. Made the order on the 11/11 and have waited for a set of QC pictures ...... but ....the status of my order stated that it has been sent with a shipping number! NO QC?!?

Although that's not ideal I wouldn't worry too much. I have bought a few watches from TDs on here without QC pics. You just need to hope that if they don't send you the pics it's a great watch. Again, not ideal but not worst case secenerio either.

are you doing everything thru the website? I will highly recommend to do EVERYTHING using your email, is just more accurate, as most people will say, their website is mostly for reference. I would shoot them an email asking about the QC pics, because they should have sent them!

Did everything via the website and my email. Have sent an email with questions regarding the QC pictures and have yet to receive a reply. Also checked the EMS # given for the shipment and EMS has no record of it yet, 2 days post being sent....

It's best to order by email and identify yourself as a member of RWI. Dealers send us (RWI members) QC pics as a courtesy. If you order through the website, they usually don't provide that service. EMS tracking can take awhile to update and then the accuracy of EMS tracking can be incorrect.

I wouldn't worry too much about the tracking just yet. It can take anywhere from the day of up to a few days for the EMS tracking to show up. Even if it does show up, it is terribly inaccurate 90% of the time. I've had a few packages stay in a certain status for many days, and the next day I check it it's supposed to be shipped that day to me. Other times it just takes a few days for it to get out of customs in both china and whatever country you are in. I know it's hard, but patience is key :) Good luck!

Well, I received my UN in a week after I ordered it...EMS showed the tracking all the was to customs in SF and when it was released. The watch was packaged very well and it took a few minutes to unwrap it...like a kid on Christmas! The first impression was WOW, then....it was DOA! My heart dropped, I felt violated! I contacted Angus twice and as of this moment have yet to hear back.....then I read Mitchbiara's article for first time buyer's after the purchase and contacted him. using his advice I took my watch yesterday to my watch-smithy and went over my concerns, he said he would give it a look over and get back to me within the next three days. My heart started beating again! About an hour ago my watch-smithy called me to let me know the watch is ready. He said it was very dirty, cleaned it up, oiled it, and will pick it up later today. I'm a happy camper!:cheer:
Thank you

Glad to see you used common sense in addressing your issue. It's good to see new members that can do that. Now enjoy your watch
