I use SmartHome's Insteon switches and I use an ISY99i for brains. I can control these with my Android phone or my tv remote.

Anyone else want to share what they are using? Anyone need help getting a project started? I have a box load of X10 stuff if you are interested.

Not so much home automation, but I'm finishing up our bonus room and want the light sconces on a IR dimmer so I can set it via the harmony remote.

So say when I push watch movie the lights dim completely ect.

Anyone recommend how to do this? I assume I would just need an IR light switch?

Bang & Olufsen here. Functional and well designed stuff. But limited in terms of what it allows you to control.

I use X10 here but it's getting very hard to come by, neither my wholesaler or the big hardware chain stock it any more. If you have some gear to sell R2 I'd be interested.

My damn controller unit (the plug in bit) blew up a cpl of weeks ago in a power surge and it looks like I'm going to have import one.

I will look at smart home and show you some options. I used to be signed up as dealer.

@Col isn't your power different from the US?

Aren't most X10 stuff 240/110? Reasonably sure the stuff I have is, need to check.

All X10 modules and switches for the US are 110 Volt 60Hz.

UK modules are different I am certain. Plugs for the US are blade type vertical. | | Your blades are horizontal correct? _ _

Our modules can't mate ... mate. LMAO.

1000% better than X10 .... on our grid anyway.

I knew the blades would be different (ours are angled, same ones as China), that's what my box load of adapters are for, I was hoping the modules would be dual voltage like most of our stuff here. Oh well.

Chris,

What color are your switches? White I assume? This is one way. Buy the switch and IR converter for under 150.00. There are many other ways to do it but this is the easiest.

Yeah sorry about that. I wish I could help more. :)
