Great thread!
I think it would be helpful, especially for those wanting to build these..to know what modification's are involved, and what parts were used on each of the watches.
There are several incredible 5512/5513's in this thread!
My 5512 was built by studying the better reps... looking at gen pictures, and asking the guys that built the good ones. There is a lot of knowledge and skill here!
I look at watches of Donerix, LHOOQ, Bonesey, and several others for example...and really want to know what cases, dials they used, and what mod's they did.
Here's mine and what was involved- it took over a year to find and collect the parts..the work was done last year by Jmb.
MBW case set, with the cg's and case bevels worked on.
Ingod44 dial- one I got from him a few years ago before he had a site.
Gen T19 crystal
Gen 702 crown/tube- gifted to me by a generous member!
Gen fat insert- got lucky and found it cheap, new in the packet..I didn't mod the pearl, it aged naturally that way.
Rep bracelet with a gen 78360 clasp
Lugholes drilled for gen springbars.
I am in search for a 1520 movement I can someday afford. These are my favorite Rolex watches, and after wearing this watch for over a year..it still puts a smile on my face every morning :)
(last pic is with a gen service insert)
