Funny how I have a life outside of this forum and didn't login in till today?.... :picard: Keep adding oil to the fire. We kinda just let it go already..

So sub4me, what do you think. you never really said anything about the whole rep factory "swiss movement" issue. Do you know where these movements come from?! Should you be expecting a legit swiss or a clone from a trusted and well-respected dealer like PT? Is PT a scammer then by putting in all these clone/broken swiss movements as claimed to be "very rarely do you get a bad swiss movement". Do you agree that swiss movements from rep factories are amazing in general or the general consensus that Swiss movements from rep factories are crapshoots as shown by these threads?

I've been around long enough to know who to buy from and who not to.

PT would be a not to buy from for me, however alot of the dealers will send you a clone and then claim it was an accident, thats BS and I'am not buying it. They get away with it because alot of guys will never open the watch and even if they do they have no clue WTF their looking at anyway.

Now listen, if Wiz orders a ETA you think a dealer is gonna send him a clone?? Of course not, they know who he is. Now if noob boob buys a watch and says give me the works, swiss, water proofed, serviced, best of the best and pays five bills guess what hes getting?? A clone unserviced movement, thats the way it goes.

What are trying to argue here..? Are you saying only wiz should order a Swiss eta from dealers?.... 90% of the ppl here don't have a name for themselves. ( or the TD just don't give a sh*t)

Are you saying it's okay for noobs to get eta clones and not the ETA movements they paid for? Why should some ppl get preferential treatment. Then as a general rule should 90% of ppl buying reps avoid Swiss then since they don't know if it's real (broken, dirty, old) or not and they're just common folks without a "celeb" status... Isnt it better for majority of ppl to buy asian movements that have a known origin and comes "as expected"? That was the debate all along.....

Another point you need to address is the amount of volume some TD have they don't have the time to check for a gen eta movement every time a customer orders a Swiss movement. Some of them might not even know how to tell if it's a clone/dirty/refurb. Hence that's why they can never guarantee a Gen Swiss movement.

This will be my last message in a thread that imo has turned into something completly ridiculous.

--> Dealers know exactly what they buy when it comes to movements. They know if they buy new Swiss, used Swiss, or clones. Unlike some comments that have been made by some, I'm not pulling that out of my a$$, it has been confirmed by various dealers, including a few times in public.

Not implying anything here, just reminding a fact.

FinaLly:

1. People should refrain from drawing conclusions on topics they know very little about: it's not because you read a few thread that you have the whole picture.

2. There is no shame in asking questions, and as opposed to making statements, you have less chances of making a fool out of yourself.

1) you don't know where these movements come from either so how can you state that some know less than you on the origins of the movements. Unless you're a dealer or rep factory owner, your speculation as good as mine. I have repeatedly ask you for that VERY important piece of (insider) info you said I was missing but yet you failed to produce.

2) the only fool I see is the one who first said I was spreading false claims when in fact, the philosophy of "luck of the draw" Swiss movements from rep factory is backed by many threads (and stickies) on the forum. As proven by this topic, in the real world customer will still get clone ETAs and broken swiss movements (2 out of 4 watches) even from a Trusted Dealer here who has large sales volume and a good reputation. That same person not only didn't produce a good quality debate that they wanted but resorted to mockery and stuff like these::biglaugh: :stir:

So please, have some self-reflection. At the end of the day, what you're saying is only the dealer and rep factory know. End.

lol. find me when you want to say something intelligent. you just make me laugh. You still haven't said what your stance is on the debate... work on that first before trying to troll. If someone was willing to share that VERY important piece of info, it changes the whole paradigm of buying rep factory Swiss movements. We will have to rewrite all the threads and stickies. Now that's something worth sharing and of godly status, no? I will bend my knees.

Here's a reminder to jog your memory: :biglaugh:

Or you just don't know and can't admit it. Sad.

Gladly. They're cheap and I know exactly what i'm getting. Btw all reps are asian copy replicas. I think you meant movement.

So been dealing with Francis and they will cover the cost of the return shipping for the Breitling Abyss with the incorrect faulty movement. But when i gave him all the shipping options and costs he picked the cheapest one that does not have tracking. I told him it did not have tracking and he said to still use it. I also asked him if he can at least get the replacement watch ready and send me some QC pics of it and the movement so we save some time when the old watch arrives. He said he would not order the new watch until he recieves this one.

Am i being treated fair here? I'd love to hear from a Mod? I have already told him that i am going eat the cost of the repair of the Omega and people here on the forum have told me its best to have the repair done here than have the guys in china do it. I ordered 4 watches and 2 of them where faulty and one had the wrong movement. He then would only pay for the $10 shipping that does not have tracking and said he would not pay for the $40 shipping that does have tracking. Am I simply setting my self up lose another $10 and never see my watch again?

Generally the norm is that u pay shipping back, and they pay shipping to you. While that is (barely) acceptable if they sent u a DOA watch, I personally cannot accept it if they sent you a wrong watch (mvt in this case).

They should also 'replace' the movement instead of 'repair' the wrong movement, but this could be a miscommunication.

I would also advice against sending it back without tracking.

So since now that the situation is that they send you the wrong movement plus DOA watches, and would only cover shipping without tracking, it seems to be a lack of responsibility here.

Better to take up a ticket at the help desk, and have a mod to advice and oversee this. Our forum mod team are good.

Let me know if i get any of the facts wrong.

Best of luck. Hopefully you'll get your watch back soon. P.S. I thought they were going to pay for a bit of the servicing?

Suggestions:
1) only accept the cheapest form of shipping without tracking "if" they promise to cover the potential lost of the watch in the mail. (i.e. take pictures at the post office, keep the receipt) If the watch doesn't arrive in a month or two, they will have to just send you a new one. I don't see a big problem if they're willing to compromise that way.

2) if you're bringing this issue to a mod, i believe you should mention how you're servicing the omega out of your own pocket. I believe you should get at least a bit (if not the full) compensation for getting the watch serviced locally.
