LOL, you got that right. Thats just amazing to me why anyone would spend that much, really at that point why not just buy the gen case also.
I know alot of guys really like to do the mods and build their own watch but damn isn't there some point where you say to yourself WTF am I doing??
I'm not knocking anyone for doing anything, shit knock yourself out, blow your wad, spend it all, I don't care, but still, damn.

2201.50 Franken with a 2892. ( I happen to like the high beat myself and frankenly speaking, I don't mind sending it out to get serviced for 150.00 every 6-7 years)

For me this is outrageous, your so close to the gen. But then again, I might consider doing it if I want that watch right now and can live without the Coaxial movement for a couple of years.
I guess, I don't understand why folks don't understand both reasoning's. It's money wasted one might say. Another might see value in buying it for 2000.00 to wear for a year or 2. Is this merely a stepping stone up to the gen?

I had an offering in the summer for a gen PO for 1400 euro...
Couldn't go for it back then though...

Boxes papers and the 2500D movement with the newer AR? Find that for 1400 Euro, I am all over it.
It was on the summer...Sorry..Friend of mine was the seller.. With box papers and in mint condition...
R2, considering my gen PO has been into service at Omega twice (f'ing 2500 co-axial) you might be onto something. Then again I do like the new 8500 co-axial.

Yeap true story! When i heard i was surprised also, these are rare chances to grap those kind of pieces!!!
Being a franken lover, i have to say the asking price for that rollie was really high! But i dont know if there an acceptable ratio for the franken price compared to the gen... But as it has been said before, there is definitely a market for the franken watches!

Imo this sums up why people do frankening. They can do the maths - and believe me - don't care about it. I like what they're doing. They are positively crazy

I may be wrong but I think alot of the overpriced watches go to noobs who see the perfect sub and think WTF everything is done already and they buy without any real thought or knowledge, thinking they saved tons over the gen price and may as well get the best rep they can, which leads to the quick sale of a way overpriced rep.
Pap, I came close once but didn't do it. I just can't get past the fact its still a rep. For me to put gen parts in a rep doesn't make sense but I do understand it and the reason others do it.
I am not aware of the Omega series but in it was a period i couldn't go for it...
