I'm also an active member of the Gen forums long before I discovered the wonderful world of reps, but I use a different screen name of course...I realized that members from the rep forums are more knowledgeable than the gen counterparts...I have a suspicion that the more knowledgeable guys in TRF or other gen forums are rep members...I can tell by the way they post...

Personally, I'm on several Rolex gen forums, but I'd never admit to owning reps. They have an extremely LOW TOLERANCE of reps. Furthermore, I DO NOT WANT to get this wonderful forum or others -- like RWG, RG, and Wrist-check -- into any trouble. Do I use the same fora name? sometimes.

I have a forum name that is a concatenation of my first and last name that I've use since the mid 1990's. I use that on the gen forums and fora like car, cigar and others. There are even photo's of me you could find on public sites if you search my gen forum name.

There are other hobbies I participate in that for one reason or another I chose to practice a degree of discretion and use this forum name. If I'm selling or buying a car, boat or other cast off from another hobby on a public classified BBS bklynboy comes in handy.

Double agent? Not really, but it helps me keep my fantasy alive....

Not sure why having different screen names is useful, exactly.

First, just because the same acreen name is used does not mean the user is the same person.

Second, if it is, does that automatically impune their integrity? This is the question at the root of it all, no?

Screen names are recognizable, and certainly unique on individual forums

The integrity of a screen name is based on the feedback of other forum members, especially those who buy, sell or trade items

If one uses the same screen name to sell replicas of the items the potential for mayhem occurs.

I know that TRF gives out lifetime bans if they know you participate on rep forums / own reps (even without posting them on gen forums).

I belong to one gen forum. I have the same name here that I have there. You can't even mention reps on that forum. Personally, I enjoy my reps more than that brand of gen, and I have much more fun here. :)

I'd like to keep things separate, although I own more gens than reps.
I have to say I find the reps fora waaaaaay more interesting than gen ones because here I can read discussions about all type of movements, reviews with plenty of pics, tutorials, passion for the details and noone is judging each other.
I'm finding the gen fora boring to read, most of the times the discussion revolves around how cool are Rolex/PAM/PP in a very snobbish way.

I don't do gen forums......I can't do with the snobbery. I like honest, genuine and down to earth people. You don't get them there.

Here, on RWI, you find them in abundance!

Let's face it, we deal in an illegal trade. Like it or not, that's a fact!

Yet we all look out for each other, offer help, befriend, share problems, laughs etc. So many members from all walks of life, different countries/continents and yet we share one common language.......watches.

Priceless!!!

Pmsl :D God they really are very sensitive!

What do you expect guys, course ye were banned.....you two probably provided more excitement in 5 mins than they would be capable of handling over several years :)
The most exciting thing they do each month is get out the springbar tool and change a fcukin watch strap ;)
