I certainly miss those strap specials... I got some great hunks of leather from him.
I am no where near as active in the rep world as I was a few years ago... but those specials certainly were Special.
Edit to add:
I can understand why he decided to move on from our community, strap makers that make their name in the "gen" side are seriously frowned upon if they are found to be dealing with the "rep" side of the watch community. If he has established his business to the point that this became an issue for him, I'll support his decision to remove himself from the rep world. He is still a good guy and sells a great product.
I know that I'm not the only watch enthusiast that plays both sides of the field. I also know that there is a pretty solid group on the Gen side that read our forums (and may or may not post) and might give Elliot a hard time about being a supporter of the rep side of the business...
I know from talking with another strap maker that made his start here and is now pretty well established in the Risti world that his ties here were catching him a lot of flak and open hostility on the Risti.
Dealers follow the money, they will obviously follow the larger source of income. I'm not mad at anyone who makes that business decision.
