I just discovered this post. So much you discovered, so much you learnt and so much you did in only one year ! That's really impressive. I wonder how far you're gone at the end of 2012.
So you're spending most of your time on a boat ? Are you working on the watches when on board ? This is a difficult job at home, I can hardly imagine doing it on a table moving with the sea ! :wideeyed:
Congratulations, and thanks for sharing this story !
Lol, no this was all done at home. In fact all things considered I spent 214 days away from home last year which leaves about ±140 days that I did most of this in. I've only ever once done anything offshore (oil rigs, not boats) and that was open up an Explorer I rep that had a loose tab screw rattling about in the movement.
EXCELLENT POST, bonesey! Just excellent! You're a lot braver than I (Mr. All thumbs) am; love the work area, too. BTW: In a workplace pic, I spotted a loup attached to glasses. I like that! Where'd you find it, or is it something you jerrryrigged (just slapped together from odds and ends)?
Thanks for the tour; the time spent (on both its creation and reading) is time well spent.
Great post mate! Thanks for all the help! You are a vintage scholar and I'm glad to try to follow in you footsteps! Thanks again for all the help bro!!!
