I need honest opinions on this one chaps. Normally I don't post QC pics for several various reasons. The lume colour I can accept as being partially charged with the bright lights so it's going to appear more green. But would you accept those 15 and 45 markers?

As much as I wanted this one to be posted before CNY I'm thinking that I'm going to have to reject them and then wait a month :/

Look at the 15 and 45 markers on the bezel. They are totally not straight. And it's not an easy job to change them. You would have to take the bezel off.

Reject it my friend...not easy to put off this bezel...It's true that these markers are screwed but not so easy to modify...

I honestly don't think they are as bad as they look. The watch is sitting at a slight angle so I straightened it up a bit as shown below - they are very slightly out, but I doubt it will be that noticeable. Hope this might help. ;)

As an aside, mine has shipped from Hont without QC pics.....

Almost every single qc watch I've seen has this.

Gents they are not screw in. The gen isn't screw in. They are pressure fit. Which ahouks make it easier. Just turnit with a phillips screw driver and a pin head of of loctite and we are set.

I'm getting mine without qc pics lol

Why would you say that when Angus's web site claims they ARE screw in. Do you know something he doesn't?

BTW My QC pics show crooked markers at 30 & 15. I asked if they could straighten them before shipping, if not, I will do it myself. Shouldn't be that hard. Remove bezel, loosen screw, straighten marker, tighten screw and replace bezel - I hope... :)

You got a good one for sure. Mine are off quite a bit more than yours. I would take that watch in a second as is. Congratulations.

my 305 is the exact same way. first my 45 was rotated too far clockwise, then they found a watch that was better...now the 15 looks a bit tweaked. :frusty:

ironic how we demand perfection on our reps! it looks like i may be learning how to remove the bezel.

anyone else know how the bezel gets removed?

Doris sent me some more QC pics. I don't know if it was just the angle of the original shots, or whether they have sorted them slightly but they look a lot better in these shots. i've accepted the watch based on these new QC pics. The 45 still looks a little crooked but I guess I will see when it arrives.

Bonesey -

I have been thinking about how to straighten the markers without removing the bezel. If they are in fact screwed in and held by the tension of the tightened screw behind the bezel here is a simple solution that may work. Basically, you could use some masking tape similar to how you unscrew a watch case back, using the sticky side of some tape and pressure.

I would take a small FLAT jewelers file and wrap some masking tape around the end, sticky side out. Hold the watch firmly in one hand and then press the tip of the jewelers file wrapped in tape to the very top of the marker with the thumb of my other hand. Then, being careful not to catch the bezel with the tape wrapped flat side of the jewelers file, apply pressure to the top of the file on top of the marker and twist it in the direction you want to rotate the marker. If the markers are held by slight tension from the screw, you may be able to move them slightly in the direction you need.

You will also get an idea on how tight or loose they are being held in the bezel by doing this. If you can't move them this way, you will undoubtedly have to remove the bezel. If my watch comes with the crooked markers I am going to try this before I remove the bezel.

If you don't have a jewelers file small enough you might get away with using the corner of a credit card with tape wrapped around the credit card sticky side out or maybe the eraser end of a pencil that is still flat and wrapped with tape. it will depend on how much pressure is needed to move the marker.
