I have a 2 year old upo that I got back about 3 weeks ago from a modder. When wearing it for approx 2 weeks I noticed something(which I thought was in my imagination) that the second hand seemed to move across the 9-12 marker more slowly or with trouble.. Anyhow after wearing it one day I saw that the second hand was stuck at the 9 mark(or whereabouts) thus rendering the movement stopped. I shaked it quite violently and it would start again, would not get stuck for about 1 day, half day or randomly stopped , than it stopped at the 12 mark sometime and I shakde it and now its completely not moving from the 9 mark. I don't know but when looking at the second hand it looks awfully close to the crystal and it might be that it get stuck to the crystal, although why I can't get it from that position by shaking it, beats me. Im going to send it back to finedd on monday and hopefully he can resolve the issue whether its crystal or movement. My question is when a movement is dying are these the tells? or how can I know for certain when It should be serviced since before I sent it, the watch was working like a charm and now it just stopped. Can shaking a watch too hard ruin the movement somehow? Or could it be the second hand is touching the crystal in such a manner that shaking it won't let it loose.. Any help or comments are as always appreciated!
