What are your guys' take on it? Is there a significant improvement with going with the TW? To me, it seems hard to justify spending $700+ on a replica that might end up breaking in the not-too-distant future. Considering there are used gen Subs for ~$5k that will last a lifetime.

I do like the 116610 look more than the 16610 but if the quality is much less and the appearance is not too close to the gen Sub...

Thoughts?

Im also considering a GMT Master II rep.
In terms of reliability, I would like to keep whichever watch for at least 4 years. So I take it swiss movement is the way to go..

Thanks guys, loving this forum (tbh, more than RWG by far)

First of all, Welcome to the Forum. You'll be glad you came. Have Fun and enjoy.......but
why would you have any thoughts of the TW 16610 breaking in the not so distant future?
I've owned the BK Noob Sub-C and found it to be an excellent, quality built rep. I only parted with it because I'm more of the Classic Sub kinda guy, currently own the BK TW and couldn't be happier. IMO it's the best 16610 Sub rep currently available. Look around and ask around. This forum is full of great guys who don't ever seem to mind sharing their information, knowledge and experience. But you've already made a great choice on where to obtain the information you seek. Good luck in your search and have fun.

Hi and welcome , I had the same dilemma between these two watches , in the end I went with the sub c purely because this is the one I LIKED the look of best , although I know the other is the better ( closer to gen rep ) to me the watch is for you -- not others ! , so I would say go with what you like best and be happy :) i wouldnt get too hung up on,it not being exactly like the gen ,they way I see it is odds are no one will pay that much attention to it ( besideds you ) others will probably never notice flaws or even care .
Like I say -I would go with the one your drawn to and enjoy :)

Yea I have read that it is the closest to gen clone you can get but I think the newer 116610 style wins me over..
With a bunch of reading of how these things break, it's hard for me to believe that just because BK modifies a taiwanese watch that it will last 5+ years. I could be completely wrong, just what has been kinda put together from reading RWG

Oh definitely!

Do you guys know if there are any GMT IIc reps that do not have that 3mm of play in the bezel?
Also, it appears that the GMT clones have better water proofing than the Sub clones..? and am I right when I say in terms of reliability I should go with the swiss movement? or should I also consider the asian 3135 clone movement?
Thanks again

Welcome to the forum. Which part of the watch are you concerned with that will break? If it is the movement, I would get it serviced and it will last you 5+ years. There are several discussions concerning the SA3135. If you search you can find several about the potential durability and the lack of parts for it. I have a Sub c and a DSSD which I love. The only thing that bothers me on these watches is the clasp. I am in the middle of JB Welding the clasp on my DSSD for the 3rd time. Maybe I too hard on them :). I know for myself that the next Rolex will be a classic sub so I don't have to worry about the clasp. As jools said, go with what you like.

Your highly misinformed as to the quality of the TW Sub. The price certainly isn't an issue either. Mine has been pressure tested to 200 meters, and keeps +3 seconds a day time. My gen 16610 kept +5 seconds. Given the fact it has the ETA movement a very long life is to be had with regular maintenance. You'd be hard pressed to find a better more versatile rep for the money anywhere.

how tight are the links on your sub c? gen like? I read a thread here comparing all the bracelets but idk where I could order them individually. Will find out. "next rolex will be a classic sub" are you referring to a 16610 model?

I probably am lol but you are highly misinformed of the price..

$680 and I believe he offers other mods which could bring the price above $700

The links on Sub c and DSSD were pretty tight. Never had a problem with the links themselves but where the links connect to the clasp next to the flip lock. Yes the classic sub with the aluminum bezel insert. You can order bracelets from the TDs. Just send them an email or pm of which one you want. Would be good idea to send picture of the bracelet too to minimize the confusion on their part :)

450.00 or 680.00...the BK TW 16610 is worth it. Take the plunge. You won't regret it.

:itchyandscratchy:
Yeah I figure it is..
but the newer 116610 style wins me over..

Im seriously considering switching to finding a GMT
Getting a TT GMT II-C to look as gen acurrate as the BK TW does for the 16610 can be done, of course...but it's not going to be cheap.

I just got my TW Sub from BK, I had a WM9 V2 before (unmodded) and this thing blows it away.

For an everday watch, the Sub is hard to beat. It goes perfect with any type of outfit. I had a few GMTCs and even a couple of SubCs but sold them off because I always wanted just one "perfect" Sub so i saved up. The flaws did not bother me on either of those watches, they had a great substantial feel to it.

In the near future, for a more formal watch I would like to pick up a Milgauss or DJ2 since they are near perfect out of the box.

Since you already decided on BK's Sub-C I am sure you will be very happy but do not be surprised if you contact him again asking for a classic Sub :) (theres nothing wrong with having both you know!)

I think the OP is inquiring about the difference between a 116610 Sub C from the Noob factory as done by BK as against the 116610 from TW. Pardon my ignorance but is there a 116610 Sub C from the TW factory in Taiwan? What I know is that they only produce the classic 16610 cases?

Likewise, I wanna ask from what factory is the Puretime 116610?

The dial is different from the Noob factory and the deepness of the rehaut engraving is a bit better. You thoughts?
